    Finally! Bought a new tractor

Unfortunately, building the barn/machine shed is on the list for after we move in. And with all the hooro stories I've read about people's tractors being stolen from locked containers on their property, I'm reluctant to move the tractor up there unitl we do move in. And yeah, it is going to...

    Finally! Bought a new tractor

Well, after decades of wanting one, and years of forum memberships, I've finally taken the plunge. I've ordered a new Kioti DK45SE, cab, HST, 2nd remote, KL401 loader with bucket teeth and chain hooks, Woods Quick Hitch, Woods 6' rotary cutter, and Kodiak 6' tiller. Kicker is that I won't be...

    SMOG test for RTV!??!?

I'm glad I left in 1972. I grew up in California, and loved it in the '50s and early '60s, before Timothy O'Leary et al. And it used to give me a thrill every time I crossed the Colorado River westbound. Never no more!!!

    ih 560 du al loader

Du Al was bought by Woods Equipment Co. You might contact them to see if they can provide you with the necessary pictures or drawings of the mount for your loader on the 560. They will probably not have the mounting kit any more, but they might be able to provide parts through a dealer.

How about designing your grapple along the lines of the Westendorf Brush Crusher? It does not require any additional hydraulics. Take a look at it here: http://www.loaders.com/aspx/product/default.aspx?productid=75. Good luck with your grapple. Fred

    prince pto pump

Yeah, this double posting can get confusing! Back in the 50s and 60s, many times a pump for the loader was run off the front of the crankshaft. Tisco still had parts for frount mounted pumps for at least Ford tractors as recently as three years ago, probably still do. I would check with your...

    Purple Martin Houses'

Talking about Purple Martins reminded me of a story my MIL used to tell. When she was growing up in the country in Georgia, they pur up gourds for the Martins every year. When she was a teen, she started dating a boy whose last name was Martin. Eventually she came home one day and announced...

    CRASH

Jamie, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I've had too many friends hurt badly in biking accidents that were not their fault in any respect, and it took far too long to recover. Some went through major personality changes as a result. You sound like you are handling it...

    Drive

I had to change mine on my LX176 a couple of years ago, and it looks somewhat similar, although the guide for the belt is different. Mine broke, so it was already off, but getting it back on was a bit of a trick. I had to remove a guide which was attached to the brake pedal and pulled the...

    Happy Girls

Jamie, your post brought to mind "For Better or Worse" in last Sunday's funny papers. Elizabeth catches Farley drinking from the toilet again and says, "Bad dog!" while whamming him on the head several times with the toilet lid. In the final frame, John is saying "See, all my training Farley...
