Use my VPlow the first time today

Congrats, on the new V-Plow. Got mine last winter just in time for a SE Michigan record setting winter snow fall. Now I look forward for snow to fall. Are you clearing blacktop surface or gravel. I bought the plow shoes but haven't needed them for pushing snow on blacktop.

Air Conditioning and Loss of Power

Could be your A/C compressor bearings are going bad and dragging causing power loss when the clutch turns on when calling for cooling. What model and how old is your RTV?

Installing Boss "V" snow plow on X1100C

Sorry I'm not sure. Dealer installed mine and I already had them install a winch. So when I bought the V-blade I wasn't sure if it would need removed or not. So I had them do it. And the winch was not removed and the install worked great. It looks like a fair amount of work is involved to do it...

RTV-900 Best overall tire for snow plowing

:agree: I agree 102% with Kanook. I've only had the RTV 1100 one winter but it was a record setter for most snow fall. We had about 95". And I pushed a ton of snow with the worksite tires that came with my Kabota. I also have the Boss 6' V-Blade, which I also recommend. All of it was on...

    Kubota V-Plow

First the question did I buy a smart hitch? The dealer showed me how to remove and install the blade on a unit they have in stock. Looked really easy. Lower the blade, flip a couple locks pull a couple pins, disconnect electric plug, back away. I think that was everything. Because they installed...

    Kubota V-Plow

I don't believe the Kubota plow is a Boss. I bought the Boss V-blade on the recommendation of my Kubota dealer. He indicated the Boss blade was better. I have not used a Kubota blade so I don't know if that's true. My Boss blade installed with light kit and rubber deflector was around $3900...

Question for those who plow with RTV

:agree: I'm new to my 2013 RTV1100 so I've had moments this winter while plowing that I wished the trans was a Hydro. But I'm also learning its' tricks. And like Mark.Sibole it's becoming second nature. The brake pedal on mine works to release pressure, turning the steering wheel, taping the...

    Fuel consumption

I only have about 30 hours on my RTV1100. What I've measured so far for fuel consumption is about .5 gallons/hour. And that has mostly been plowing snow in a January where the average temperature was about 16 degrees. Just curious what others get for fuel consumption. :drink:

    Which Plow 2 Buy

With no prior experience with these tires I was somewhat worried. But I was surprised how well they did in the snow without chains. I didn't even have weights in the bed. There were times in the really deep stuff I would start to spin. So I would just raise the blade a little and keep pushing...

    Which Plow 2 Buy

My only other snow blade experience is with a Toro Zero turn tractor with a straight blade. Not as big or strong as the Kubota and Boss blade. So I would say yes you could get by just fine with the Boss straight blade depending on the size of your job. The Toro with straight blade was just OK...

    Which Plow 2 Buy

Snow plow rescue My community has about a 1.5 mile circular drive that the county doesn't plow until other roads are clear first. This can take anywhere from 2 to 5 days. This is the first winter I've had the 1100 pictured. When we got a foot of drifting snow a couple weeks ago I used the...

    Which Plow 2 Buy

Thanks, I got everything done as a package deal. I think the light kit for the V- Blade was around $150. The 4 lights on the cab roof around $400. That included dealer doing all the work and separate light switch for front and rear. That's what I remember without looking at the paperwork. So...

    Which Plow 2 Buy

Bought a RTV 1100 in September. Added a winch at that time. Was watching this and other feeds about snow blades. Decided to get the Boss V-Blade with light kit. Plus added front and rear lights to top of cab. Then we got about a foot of snow over the last few weeks. Plowing snow in a heated cab...
