I've found on electric winches if you are working them hard the hot wire to the battery can get very hot, if it's a long run to the battery that just makes matters worse. A chunk of electric welding cable eliminates this small problem ☺

Just wondering if a portable winch that hooks onto the rear trailer hitch ball would have been useful? I have a winch on the front also but have seen the time when a pull from the rear would have helped.

My face is red ☺ spent two hours today trying to duplicate the downshift. I have a small trip planned for tomorrow, will try once more. The only other new odd thing is it now takes a lot of rpm to start moving. I suspect the 50 hour checkup will cure any small problems.

I've drove tanks with hydro static transmissions, their is no need for Kubota to have a transmission that thinks on its own or to leave the factory without being tested and adjusted.

I don't THINK it will, with mine the new shaft was about a 1/4 inch to long, I removed the rubber bumpers and installed the new one over the Kubota plate, the other option would have been grinding off a 1/4 inch on the new shaft

I've only had my X900 for a about six weeks, I installed the air filter lift kit. Just a tad peppier which I think is due to a much shorter hose length to the engine. It even sounds like a little diesel engine now ☺☺

Changing to a higher gear ratio is not the way to go faster with a under powered engine. ☺☺

To get away from the spark arrester I've been toying with the idea of a muffler for a 28-40 hp tractor. I suspect that a straight pipe on the little engine might affect the fuel ratio which is something above my pay grade. I do know running any engine too lean can be expensive☺
