    RTV died while fueling

You can lift box manually by locking bed lift lever all the way forward in the float position. I recently bought a Mr. Funnel. It has built in filtration and blocks water. You might want to check it out. Good luck!

    Heavy front springs, finally!

I was going to do it the same as you did but the hardware of my straps were a little too long. But yes, a spring compressor is the way to go.

    Heavy front springs, finally!

It sure would be worth checking into. Does your suspension bottom out? Mine would, especially when carrying the plow. My 900 is a 2008, so it doesn't have the adjustable suspension like the newer X series. Hopefully someone will chime in with more info regarding the X rigs.

    Heavy front springs, finally!

It wasn't too bad but a little more than I thought it would be. (3 hours plus for me) The tie rod has to be removed and then instead of popping the lower ball joint loose, I took the lower control arm loose from the frame (2 bolts). Be careful not to let the CV shaft over extend. I would...

    Heavy front springs, finally!

I bought my rig a few years ago. It has a dealer installed cab and curtis snowplow. But they left the front springs original (white dot.) I finally got around to buying and installing the red dot heavy front springs. Huge difference, I'm really happy with them. I wish I would have measured ride...

    RTV Gun Carry....What to use?

This is kind of on the other extreme from bczoom's. I bought this last summer. NAA .22 magnum, 5 shot, 4 9/16" long, fits in any pocket. Can also shoot shotshell cartridges. With this there are no excuses not to have a gun with you...

    New RTV owner

Welcome to a great site with great folks! Lots of experience here. That's quite a toy box you've got.

    About the Kubota RTV900 ROPS

Wow! It's great that you weren't hurt any worse. I only wear my seat belt when I'm running down the edge of a county road, only because of possibly encountering a cop. Your accident definitely will make me likely to wear it more.

Finding a bolt in a haystack

I had a very similar bolt work its way out of the muffler on my chainsaw. Have you used a saw lately???????? Bolt looks like it has been exposed to heat. JEFF

    super udt2

I'm not sure but I was under the impression when I bought mine from the dealer that the super was recommended for colder climates. I also thought that the 2 was replacing the previous types. http://www.messicks.com/Articles/superudt.aspxhttps:// www.kubota.com/part/Lubricants.aspx

    stopped smoking but,why??

Sounds like it can't get rid of the blow by and the crankcase pressure is allowed to build. Once the crankcase pressure builds it will push out where ever it can, probably past the rings or seals somewhere. Rings could be a little stuck from sitting. I'm not familiar with how Kubota vents the...

    X1100 difficulty shifting transmission

Shifting problems are a definite down side to the RTV's. My 900 is a 2008, with the pressure release cable on the dash. The cable works great but you need 6 hands to plow with this set-up. It's especially frustrating when your ass is in traffic. Kubota gave almost no thought as to the...

    I'm an idiot

Engine oil is filled through valve cover cap on motor. Trans oil is filled through round cap on transmission towards rear of machine. If you are not sure don't be in a hurry. I wish I had some pictures to post for you. Maybe you can access a manual on line. I'll check in on this thread in...

    I'm an idiot

I believe its a black plastic round cap that doubles as a vent also. It's just to the rear and close to the trans dipstick.

    I'm an idiot

Super UDT2 for the trans, and a good diesel rated oil like Rotella for the motor. I would drain the engine completely, not just 3 quarts. Go back to my previous post, I added to it. A manual would have helped you a ton.

    I'm an idiot

I'm with D&D Farms, If you damaged the motor, it's already done. I would drain the engine completely and refill, cross your fingers and give it a try. These are tough little engines. The picture you posted is the trans drain plug. Is this the plug you tried draining excess engine oil from? If...

    Knuckle case/Front axle oil change

Thanks for the reminder Bordercollie! My buggy has 280 hours and I did this same service today after reading your post. The knuckle case oils were clean, but the axle case oil was nasty. No metal chunks but the oil had a definite metallic sheen and was far from clean. Glad I didn't wait for...

Winter maintanance and anual fluid changes started

Mark, Some one gave you some bad info, joints you can grease need lube more often than sealed joints. You can't hurt the seal on the caps, they will relieve when full. Ball joints though are another story. When my rig is due for joints , I may be looking for advice. We are only about 40 miles...

Winter maintanance and anual fluid changes started

Are the joints you use greaseable or are they sealed joints? There is nothing wrong with sealed joints. The caps usually have tighter seals than joints you can lube which can only be a good thing. But a trick I learned years ago was to pull the caps off and make sure that the little...

    rpm guage

I was surprised that the RTV's didn't have a tach, but after owning one for a while I really don't see the need for one. I would rather have an odometer. If the RTV's had a manual trans, a tach would be more essential. Also with the hydro design they have and the built in braking when you let...
