    2006 RTV900 coolant leak

I had to replace that same freeze plug after my RTV900 purchase. Its easy enough to do, but it was just the start of a list of coolant system issues.

    Crap Sums it Up

d782 Power 22 Kw / 29 HP RPM @ 0 RPM Price $1595.00 This engine seems to be plentiful, compared to the stock 902 engine, any mods required? Details please. My engine with the cracked block has been running perfectly, but its nice to have a backup plan.

RTV1140CPX lost its head is this all RTV's

Climbing a hill to my mail box the gauge registers about 1/3 scale, after replacing the head. Never hear the fan running, I have confirmed that the fan motor is good. I had some blow by, but replacing the crank case vent valve resolved that. FYI the valve is built into the valve cover. It's an...

Rtv excessive black smoke and loss if speed

My RTV was overheating when climbing hills. After performing the necessary repairs (replaced the head) I butt the RTV against a tree and mashed the accelerator in high gear. Old head=full scale temp reading and loosing coolant, new head=1/3 scale reading and no coolant loss.

Rtv excessive black smoke and loss if speed

Injectors are not normally a problem with this engine. But if you don't know the maintenance history I would remove and have them checked. Any diesel shop will be equipped to test and refurbish if necessary. Plan B... I installed new china injectors from ebay, considerably less than OEM...

RTV1140CPX lost its head is this all RTV's

I replaced the head on my RTV900 with a complete assembly. It was cracked above the center cylinder. Before you install a new head confirm the block is flat. I paid $900 for an OEM head, the gasket kit was about $100. Supposedly OEM head assemblies are pressure tested. The lowest priced...

    RTV Windshield

Honestly I have not needed to clean it since the installation. It has been smacked hard by overhanging brush, while traveling through the woods. No noticeable marks on the surface. It is made of MR10 hard coated polycarbonate Cleaning instructions by the mfg... 1) A mixture of a mild liquid...

    RTV Windshield

I installed a sidebyside windscreen on my RTV900. Shipping was delayed but it arrived in perfect condition. The mounting clamps require an occasional check for tightness. The windshield rattles when the clamps loosen up. The tape supplied to prevent rattling does not help much.

    Seat Cover- (stapled on type)

The cost of a professionally installed seamless cover was about 3Xs this amount. This is for the early RTV900 with the narrow back. The foam was very uneven at the drivers position and the back board was rotted so I handed it off to an upholstery shop. Now looks OEM

    Overheating Possibility

The antifreeze was flushed when I replaced the head. It has been about a year but I don't recall an issue with bleeding air out of the system. Maybe beginners luck?

Here's a "Talk About Anything" thread

Since you mentioned Milwaukee cordless I checked to confirm the cost of a replacement M28 battery. It's for their 5 piece tool kit, purchased about 2010. $150 for an OEM battery, Chinese version is $65. The tools have performed flawlessly but when the OEM battery is shot I will likely go the...

Here's a "Talk About Anything" thread

If you cannot justify the expense of a new gas chainsaw (I could not) maybe consider a Chinese model from Amazon. Been using a 52cc saw with a 20" bar for the past year. A few minor issues like shipping damage and a stretched pull cord but for $120...no complaints. Replacement chains are not...

    RTV900 Crankshaft Seal FYI

Sounds like I am confused. The half shaft mates with Front Brake Case, according to the Operator's Manual. It indicates to check the brake fluid in this Case. Another section of the manual calls this the Knuckle Case and to use Knuckle Case oil. Apparently there are two different halves of...

    RTV900 Crankshaft Seal FYI

UPDATE Replaced the $55 PVC membrane. There is a small hole in its cover but that was open. This and replacing the crank seal has eliminated oil coating the front of the engine and drips on the floor. The next leaking seal...drivers side front wheel where the half shaft enters the knuckle...

Messics had over 50 of these in stock. Could this indicate its a common failure item, or did they miscalculate the demand?

Done! The membrane was dry but dirty and distorted. Tried cleaning with carb cleaner...still warped. A replacement is on order for the special Kubota owners price of $55 plus shipping.
