Three point hitch attachment for skid loader

I have seen pictures of people making such a thing, not made one myself though. You might find the attachment at THIS LINK useful though, it'll give you an idea of the spacing and pin sizes you need to use for the 3ph side of it. Welcome to the site :D

How do you sharpen your mower blades?

I use an angle grinder, definitely take them off the sharpen. That way when you come to replace the blade it wont be rusted on :D I did buy a little cone blade balancer, cost about $8 and takes the guesswork out of blade balancing. Cant see using a file to sharpen blades, it would take an age...

    Cordless grinder

Well, I went with the Makita cordless in the end. I bought 3 batteries, and a 15 minute charger. I dont know what the other brands are like, but the charger for this thing looks like something out of mission control at NASA, flashing lights everywhere. They sell a few variations on batteries and...

    Cub Cadet 149 Question

Shinn, most loaders use their own pump running off the tractors PTO, or off the crank pulley on the engine. Most use the loader frame as the hydraulic reservoir. I know the Deere 455 uses the power from the trans for the loader and accesories. Only about 4gpm, but they do use very small rams...

    Toro Wheel Horse

Yup, thats a very good mower. I have its smaller brother (312-8) with a backhoe and loader. Only 'issue' with the 520H is the Onan engine, which is very expensive to rebuild. But with only 400 hours and good maintenance you shouldnt need to worry about rebuilding it for atleast 1000 hours yet.

    Cub Cadet 149 Question

Easiest way to check is to run a line off the trans and see how much fluid comes out in 10 secs. Measure the volume times 6 and you've got volume per minute. Pretty sure it wont be enough for a logsplitter though, likely to be 2-4 gpm. I think those steal flow from the charge pump to supply the...

    2305 ...?

Hey T man, welcome to the site. Nice fire in your avatar! I assume it was started on purpose? If thats your tractor shed then I guess it isnt a nice fire atall :o!

    2305 ...?

Congrats on the new tractor, take pictures now, it'll never look as good :D I got slammed on another forum for doing a service late. Doing a service 17 hours late isnt really a big deal to me if you are doing more hours than that in a week! I will admit to a moment of weakness the other day...

    Shell Tellus R22

From what I have read in your links it seems all the Tellus oils are hydraulic oils, though as you say, the only reference to the R was to refrigeration oils. It does look very much like hydraulic oil, so I think I'll give it a go. I have been using hydraulic oil as a cutting lubricant, seems...

    Shell Tellus R22

Thanks Cali, thats pretty conclusive. ISO 22 is a bit light sadly. Now the £60 question is, do I chance it and dump it in with a barrel of ISO 100 from a different supplier, or do I just not use it. I'm leaning towards mixing it with a barrel of ISO 100.

    Shell Tellus R22

Anyone know what Shell Tellus R22 is? Looks and feels like hydraulic oil, but I'd like to know for sure before I dump it in my splitter. Knowing the grade would be handy too. Found a sealed drum of it, its got to be 20 years old maybe more. If its the right oil it'll save me £60. This...

    Suburban on steriods

Kieth, love the wheels :D Wasnt that the one that had the boom on the back? No need for that any more, or will you make it into a 3ph attachment?

What's the story on this -?

I'd be interested to see what checks were done to determine that it was the injector pump at fault. From what I read, it seems that only one injector wasnt providing fuel. I would have expected the engine to start even with one dead cylinder. Either way, if the OP has disappeared we'll probably...

    Cordless grinder

The air compressor is sounding attractive, I'll have to check with my insurance company how much it will add to my premium (its a modification so it adds). The cordless grinder would be perfect if it weren't for the battery life. Do you reckon its just DeWalt that are so bad, or maybe Makita is...

What are you doing with your Tractor this weekend

Quincy, proper job on that train! 10/10 for that one :D I wish! I spent yesterday meddling with firewood and BSing with the neighbour. Today its a clean-a-thon. Its just taken me an hour and half to do the bathrooms, the washing machine is on its second load, the hoover needs emptying. Looks...

    Cordless grinder

There are air compressors available for the diff locks, but I dont think they are large enough to run tools. Air brakes are an option on the truck, might have to look into that. I could just run one off the PTO on the trans, or I was thinking of belt driving it off the pulleys on the crankshaft...

    Cordless grinder

Q, I think I'm pretty much discounting DeWalt now. Sounds like the batteries are poor, and they arent even cheap (over here anyway)! Too right on the inverter cost, but if I'm spending £300 on effectively a single tool (inc batteries and a charger), then say £500 to fit an inverter doesn't seem...

    Cordless grinder

5-6 minutes? Man, thats bad. That'll never do, I'd have to have a pile of batteries. You arent the first to say you are pleased with Hitachi, Mark. They are certainly up there in price. I think between you and Erik the DeWalt tools are out. I've always been a little suspicious of DeWalt being...
