    How much weight ?

I'm a lightweigt compared to what some of you guys are pushing, however, MY little 900 with the standard Curtis blade and electric lift has and is working really well for me. Most of my plowing can be done without reversing. Only had a couple times where shifting was an issue (And a bit of help...

    RTV Gun Carry....What to use?

I'm sure I'm behind the times on the cans. The rim fire I watched tested was actually a sharper noise then the subsonic .45. My ears are bad from so many years of big bore pistols and rifles that I'm sure my hearing range is very limited to began with. (My wife says so) I got interested in a...

    RTV Gun Carry....What to use?

I have seen a couple of the best ones available made for military and for black ops and first of all they were really not that quiet, and they were only good for a few (5-10) rounds before they needed total dissasembly or at least a good cleaning. The best was not noticeably quieter then the...

    Insurance

Yes, I should know better by now. Year ago i happened to call my insurance company direct as I could not contact my agent. I had paid this guy for over two years at the time and I was really ticked off when they could not locate my policy. Long story short, that started an investigation and it...

    Insurance

I was told that here in Oregon my 900 was covered under my homeowners as long as it was on my property and used to maintain same. I find nothing in my policy to support that however. In the event I should need it I expect the insurance company will say "What coverage"~~~~~~~~KOBE

    RTV Gun Carry....What to use?

Have no idea what the supply and demand situation is down in your country, but around here (Oregon) you can usually find a double 12 Gauge Stevens, or simular, in good usable operating condition for around $100 or less. I keep a couple in the outbuildings with a good shot of fluid film and they...

    New lights on the 1100

I would be concerned with the amp draw, however, if your normal use is an engine running situation, then I guess the more the better. The six big Hellas I used to have on and old desert racer pulled about eight amps each, and at idle they would run out of alternator in a short time. The lights...

    Which Plow 2 Buy

Thanks guys, I hear ya now, I will use this winter as a learning experience. I have about seven hundred feet of ten to fifteen degree drive that is in a cut or has stone walls on both sides, so there is no place to go. Next time I will push it clear down to the County road and let them take care...

    Which Plow 2 Buy

I used my "B" series Kubota with the bucket a couple of times in the past, and if I almost got the front wheels off the ground it would clear most ice, however it was hard to control where you were going and obviously only worked on hard smooth surfaces. The RTV is a lot more fun ~~~~~~~KOBE

    Which Plow 2 Buy

So far the inexpensive Curtis has been more then up to the job. as we just normally don't get more then three to six inchs of snow at a time. However, this winter has been so cold that the snow I plowed almost a month ago is now piles of ice. If we get a few more snowstorms I will have no place...

    Which Plow 2 Buy

I missed that one in the old files, but I sure like it. I don't mind the mamual angle at all for my normal plowing as I only need two passes in a half mile (In and out) but I sure would like additional down pressure. Most of my plowing area is asphalt, so on snow it works just fine. However, on...

    Looking for help deciding

Gotta go along with 2-Guns. I thought the ability to warm or cool the old body would be nice, but I use the RTV mostly for work. Cannot get much work done in the cab, so I will use the diesel truck if it gets below zero. Other then that, just dress warm. I plowed a lot of snow last week (Unusual...

    Which Plow 2 Buy

Regarding the slow lift on the Curtis I thought mine was fast, so I just went out and timed it. Down about two and a half seconds. Up about three. I don't remember my tractors being any faster. The manual angle you do have to dismount for but it is as smooth as glass and only takes a few...

Advice on type of snow blade to buy

After considering the opinions of many of our members, and like you, not normally having much more then a foot of snow at a time, I bought a Curtis 72' blade for My 900XT last year. Today was actually it's first real test with a solid 10 inchs or more, and it made me really happy. I plowed my750...
