It is a nice unit. The stock switch will work as it is intended to work - BUT - the new unit works independently so you never have to use the stock switch. The unit works well - the more you turn it the longer the interval - I haven't used the stock switch at all now. Have fun.

Check the connections at the solenoid and starter. Perhaps the ignition wires to the solenoid are compromised- if the key doesn't seem to get a response it may very well be the issue - solenoid is not getting the message!

I just read the description of this device and it looks like the volt display is on all the time since the 12 volt receptacle is "hot" regardless of the key position. It won't draw much, but I am thinking that this could be somewhat of a problem?

On my X900 I had my plow lights exactly where you have yours - up under the roof edge. I had a metal roof, but I had the lights hanging the same way. I had no problem - but then again I had a Boss plow so the reflection was not so bad, but the Boss plow can go up so high that it made it hard...

Changing the color would be a nice experiment! I've not had a problem with reflection from the top of the cab lights. Being up that high makes the reflection angled down rather than right back at you. I plow on my own 1.5 miles of dirt road so I don't run into traffic except at the two points...
