Extended fire season RTV1100 vs Ranger 6X6

Just finished another fire call, lucky this time, cigarette butt thrown from a window but we were able to snuff it out with less than an acre burnt. Didn't even need to unload the Ranger. People! :14_6_12:

I know what you mean Shinnery, My wife just had to quit because of a back injury sustained on the job. She just had surgery last week and is very tender. It's a young man's game, but some of us older dudes have to stay to show them how to stay alive.

Extended fire season RTV1100 vs Ranger 6X6

It's been one of the hottest springs in memory and as a firefighter Ive been busy as a one legged man in a butt kicking contest. For the ranch I've put together a quick response rig to snuff out any lightning strikes before they get too big. I'm using a 6.5 hp forestry pump to fill the tote...

New tool to maintain the RTV

Mine is just under 12 feet high. Is perfect for the model lift I bought. You'd need the XL lift and 14 to 15 feet would be perfect. There are calculators on the site at advantage lifts.us

New tool to maintain the RTV

Good point Art454! I'll probably source out a replacement pump in a few years just to be on the safe side. With a 5 year warranty I think I'll be good till 2020, well maybe not me, but the pump should last till then.

New tool to maintain the RTV

Was thinking of the XL but measument confirmed that I can fit our short box extra cab duramax GMC 3/4 ton on this one so I saved myself a few $ and a few square feet of garage floor. For the price they are a great addition to a garage.

And the bike fits too! This was probably the hardest vehicle to change oil on while on the ground.

New tool to maintain the RTV

Been a while since I've posted here, a very dry spring has made for a busy wild land fire season. We've finally gotten some rain and things have slowed to a maintainable pace so I've given myself a fathers day present. It's an Advantage lift rated at 9000 lb. Made in the good old USA. What...

Best brush killer that won't kill me

I just have to chime in here and complement this forum and its members for tackling such diverse and important subjects. Living in a rural area allows me to see first hand how our food is harvested and in this case, roundup it applied to certain crops just prior to harvest. Didn't seem right...

I'll be sure to post one when I have it all together again. Fire risk is all time low right now and it's not safe to have water in the tank or pump at this time cause it will freeze and burst. I'll have it together in about a month and will post some pictures of it as I prepare for the spring...

Very true. I just retired from the City of Calgary and moved up north to God's country almost 3 years ago. My wife and I used to motorcycle ride down to Montana often. Have good friends in Billings. It's a great State! So good that it's almost Canadian! LOL :harley:
