    Dome light switch

I was just thinking that maybe the windshield fits into a slot on the gasket and then the gasket gets pressed on the frame to make the deal and possibly I stuffed the wire too far and actually created a gap to the outside? Dave

It's seam sealer on a panel seam not silicone. It's also a brand new machine. I didn't have any water leaking before running the wires up, but I'll look at it closer and when I recover from my night last night, LOL.

Yeah, I was a little surprised to say the least. I think I'll use these little things that stick on and you use a zip tie to secure the wire. Dave

Just got in THE RTV and apparently the spot I ran the wires up along windshield gasket wasn't a good idea. Water leaked in so need to come up with plan B. Dave

    Dome light switch

I decided to finish up the dome light switch and delay project today. It's setup to turn light on when door is opened and slowly dim out after 5 seconds after door is closed. It also will turn light on when you shut ignition off and shut off immediately if door closes when ignition is on. I also...

Mine is a '22, just got it in September. The orange is just a reflection and it's actually painted black. I just pulled the wire out a little so you could see where it was running, but yes it goes up and into the headliner. Dave

Not the greatest pictures especially since I'm using a brown wire. It's tucked between the post and windshield gasket. Dave

    Dome light switch

Yeah, I spent a little bit today trying to figure an easy way to run the wire up from the cupholders and didn't come up with a solution that isn't a little janky. The one thing I could come up with is to run the wire from the cupholder area and tuck it in under the rubber windshield gasket along...

Looks like next to cupholders might be an easy option but need to figure out wire routing. Dave

Do you have a picture of the switch? I'm always looking for options before I commit to what I already bought. Dave

I had no clue these existed either until I Googled "dome light delay module" and this one seemed to be perfect because you can set the parameters the way you want. I was thinking about mounting the switches up near the cupholders but haven't looked to see how much space olis behind the...

    Dome light switch

It's a cute little thing, LOL. I was going to do the dome light project over the weekend but still can't decide if I want to mount the jamb switches in the same location as ZMAN put his or if I can come up with a different spot. I configured the delay for 5 seconds and a 10 minute timeout if...

    Dome light switch

I'm taking this one step further and adding a delay module so the light will stay on for a few seconds (adjustable) after shutting the door door. The module is programmable for amount of delay and also will shut light off after a few minutes if door is left open...

I was just looking on Amazon and there's a few listings for similar looking ones and they claim to be adjustable length.
