Said goodbye to my Blue Buddy

Well after 17 years and a little over 2500 hours, I said goodbye to my Blue Buddy. It has been a great tractor, but as we have gotten into the goats more we found we were needing to switch between tractor duties and mowing duties too much and I was spending too much time doing that. Combine that...

    Gettin' in over our head.....

Wonder where that came from, LOL. I'm down to one sheet left. It is going to pain me to have to start buying OSB for projects again, LOL.

    Gettin' in over our head.....

Thought I better post an update. We had kind of "paused" on the milk room. Earlier this year Monica decided to finish it - and in the process remodel it, LOL. So she started working on it. She ended up doing most of the finish work herself. I help her with the metal. We also had to redo the...

    Knee deep in ka ka

If we had a way to get it there, I have all of the compost you would ever want/need. It does great. It'll make a garden grow like there is no tomorrow. Of course, mine is from goat, so it isn't "hot" like horse/cow.

    Old Sears Suburban SS12

Well guys, yesterday was a great day in the life of this project. It had gotten shoved to the side and I hadn't spent any time on it since this thread. I was moving out of the garage yesterday to a recently acquired shed. My son and a friend of his were there and they were helping. They wanted...

    Ohio Kubota buyers beware

Wouldn't surprise me a bit. If someone needed a piece of structure that would be OK, but I wouldn't want anything electrical, any gears/bearings, or the engine. Doesn't leave a lot.

I beat the crap out of the PHD shaft with a 3 lb sledge.

    Ohio Kubota buyers beware

A buddy of mine took this picture this morning at Evolution Ag in Circleville, Ohio. I wouldn't want any of these tractors now and I would be afraid to buy anything from them for quite awhile until I made sure all of these were gone. I was just there last week looking at zero turns - the very...

    Opps ...Mishaps, accidents etc ...

Washed the tractors boss A buddy of mine took this picture this morning on his way to work at a tractor dealership in Circleville, Ohio. I was just there last week looking at Zero Turns. Guess I will be avoiding them now, no way in hell I would want one of these.

The whatchamacallit on my dohicky is frozen ... (aka PTO shaft)

I bought a post hole digger. It took me several weeks to get the PTO shaft freed up. I would spray it with PB Blaster. Hit the end of it with a hammer a few times. Spray it again and let it sit. Took 2 or 3 weeks, but finally got it freed up with that approach. Had the same issue with the...

TC24D battery light on - guessing alternator

I was finally able to get my pictures from my phone. The first several pictures show the connector and how hot it had been and how close it was to catching the tractor on fire. The last few pictures show the light bar I installed on canopy. The one picture shows back of the bar, then the others...

TC24D battery light on - guessing alternator

I loaded the tractor up on Friday and hauled it into the place I got the new alternator. He was able to make the new alternator charge. So he said there was a broken wire at the wire going to the charging post of the alternator. So I then had my work cut out for me. I followed the wire back a...

TC24D battery light on - guessing alternator

Grrr... I had my wife take the OEM alternator in to a shop to be rebuilt shortly after I put the new one on. The guys was getting ready to go on vacation and something about parts, so he said would be a bit. I wasn't overly concerned about. Fast forward to a month or so ago, the lights kept...

TC24D battery light on - guessing alternator

Thanks Jerry, me too. I know the tractor is getting some age on it, but I still think I have had some issues I don't think I should have had in a tractor with around 2200 hours on it. As much I've liked the tractor, I don't know that I would buy another blue.

TC24D battery light on - guessing alternator

I remember that happening. My original battery lasted 11 or 12 years (2003 - 14/15). I just went to Advance and picked a same size battery up. I think it was around $100. It has not given me any issues. It even held up using it with this bad alternator without having to be jumped/charged. I've...

TC24D battery light on - guessing alternator

Just for curiosity, I looked the alternator up on Messick's website. A new one is $550 and a remanned one is $280. I can change my new Chinese quite a few times for that kind of price difference.

TC24D battery light on - guessing alternator

Been using the tractor off and on all winter without issue, including all day cleaning the barn a few weeks ago. Went out last Sunday to take some feed to the barn because it was too wet to take the truck. Start the tractor up, battery light comes on and it stays on. Thinking, uh oh, this isn't...

    I'm thinking I have a clutch issue

I did get the tractor finished up. All fluids and filters changed. I did some light bush hogging with it on Sunday of some grass that hadn't gotten mowed since I haven't been able to mow. It worked OK for that. So I decided to go for. I put another 9 hours on the proof meter yesterday doing some...
