For vehicles setting for periods of time= Mice don't like the smell of bounce sheets, I will put 3-4 in a old sock and then put a sock where I don't want mice, under hood, dashes under seats where ever. In my area wood rats like rad hoes :-(

not a expert but I suspect the float position does nothing but direct fluid to go through a relief valve, driving a mile might get the valve hot enough to stink but it shouldn't cause any serious problems☺☺

Take it to a dealer sounds like a darn good idea☺grinding when putting in gear? there's nothing in the transmission that if everything was normal would make a grinding noise ( I don't think ) but I ain't no expert on nothing☺☺

Out of curiosity I searched the internet for hand throttle and then viewed images. Lots of throttles in all shapes and forms. someone handy with their hands could build their own ?☺☺
