    Man, I love my 1100C!

That's an interesting comment because as you live further north you just expect the roads to be good after a snowfall. Case in point, we left Florida last week knowing that we would hit the Michigan boarder about noon the next day. The forecast was clear sailing from Florida to Michigan with...

    New RTV1100 Owner

Good work, I purchased an aftermarket alternator from Ebay about three years ago for my 04 - 900. It's still working great. No worries on that front.

    WTB - '05 RTV 900 tailgate

Oops! A little late but just a thought, why not build one out 1 X 1 square tubing and use mesh or bars as inserts. Could be bolted or welded together depending on available skills.

Sounds like the best possible news. Probably a good times to check the valve seating and you'll end up with a newish engine and nice RTV for an excellent price.

    New RTV1100 Owner

Welcome, I suspect you proved the injectors are good but as you seem to be comfortable working on the engine, I'd personally pull each piston and check the rod clearance and the piston pins to be sure they are not sloppy as well as the rings. I'm far from a diesel mechanic but a loud knock is...

    New Kid on The Block

On my 04 900, If I don't raise the blade when I still have force on the snow I pushed off the drive, it's difficult to shift from forward into reverse even if I'm pushing the brake pedal. So try raising the blade before you try shifting to see if your machine acts the same.

    Newbie Diesel Cold Weather Questionms

The low sulfur issues above are why I started using the PS Kleen + cetane based on previous forum discussions.

    Newbie Diesel Cold Weather Questionms

Yes it is. You can find it at most auto stores. It's been discussed a few times on the forum in the past.

    Newbie Diesel Cold Weather Questionms

You can see in the background that mine sets in an unheated pole barn. It's where my 2004 900 sets during the winter. In the 10 years or so I've had it, starting has not been an issue. I usually cycle the glow plugs a couple of time for 10 seconds or so and then start it. I don't recall...

    Curtis Plow Instructions? (1UTVP)

Mine acts exactly the same as your's. When the blade hits the ground the front of the RTV will lift a fair bit. Those blades are heavy as you'll find out when you remove it. The way my plow is mounted and it was put on by the dealer, the chain will usually have several inches of length more...

    Curtis Plow Instructions? (1UTVP)

On a second note, I see your lift uses two chains not the single like mine. I should have thought of doing that as my blade drops quite a bit when angled. Thanks for posting your assembly, it gave me a solution. This is an old shot as mine has a full cab now.

    Curtis Plow Instructions? (1UTVP)

I have the Curtis plow with manual angle. The up/down is controlled by an electric arm attached to the blade with a chain. I looked at the hydraulic angle model you have and it is raised/lowered just like mine. I don't see how the mechanism can generate downforce on the blade other than the...

    Greetings from northern Michigan

Welcome from the eastern side of the state. Based on using my RTV900 on up to a foot or so of snow you will find that weight in the bed is an advantage. I have a piece of plywood in my bed and 15 cinder blocks on top of it.

    Looking for snow plow instructions

I heard about the pipe addition from my neighbor that said his SIL a couple of miles away had done that to an ATV blade with success. He tack welded a steel pipe to the blade after he cut a slot in it to slide the blade in. I don't know the size but I'd think I just buy a small diameter piece...

    Looking for snow plow instructions

I have the Curtis blade on my 900. The lift is electric and you can see how it works in the picture. My angle is manual. The weight is fine for plowing but if you are planning to do gravel, I would recommend either wider skids or a piece of pipe in the lower blade edge to keep from digging into...
