This summer was rubbish. Rain rain rain. Then more rain. Then some more :D Harvest was pretty drastic. Very hard to get it cut. Summer top temperatures are meant to be high 20's (centigrade) Not many have AC I don't think :D Just heating ;)

White smoke comes for a variety of different reasons but often because of too much fuel is being forced in or water is getting in. I suppose it might be that the injector has got a bit leaky and worn if the engine is well used

Yes, there are Yanmars over here. Quite popular with people who just want a little tractor for small chunks of land. I doubt that TBN will mind the link, other people have them too.
