RTV Hydrostat

Neil knows his stuff. Kubota (Seiki)makes all of their HST transmissions in Japan with 1 exception theT-series T/M, which is made in the USA by Hydrogear (they maketons of T/Ms for riding mowers of all makes). ROPS are made by other companies within the USA and Japan (for the big stuff)...

    turbo for rtv?

Re: turbo for RTV? Very cool...a must have for very high elevations (like mentioned).

    Brakes Specifications

The rear wet-type brakes are internal to the transmission (dynamic braking) and the parking brake engages them when actuated. The master cylinder is only for the front tractor style wet-type brakes.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

    Name Game

LOL Rattler! I like Hoss best.
Well, for some reason the Japanese didn't feel like being creative when naming it so like Acura, Lexus &Infiniti they choose to give it a nomenclature style name.
FYI: RTV900 = Rough Terrain Vehicle and the 900...

    40,000 RTV's

Cool, had did you get this article from our local paper? I guess someone emailed it to you. I liked thecomparison to the Toro 2WD Twister and comment about the automatic transmission. [:^)]

    Snow Blower

The blade for the RTV is very durable (made by Curtis Cab) and attaches more securely than just via the front receiver and the blade has the option for hydraulic angle control. Your tractor can handle a FEL snow blower or rear PTO blower when the snow gets high. The RTV blade and...

    Very cool...good job!
Yep, a nice torch will put the bend you need in the plexi-glass...I've seen it done.

    Snow Blower

You can get a snow blade instead. Also,I have seen aftermarket companies that make a hydraulic sweeper. Granted these might not work with your snow conditions but it might be worth looking into.

    Manufacturing date

That is a very recent unit, since S/N 50000 (the 40,000th unit made) rolled out of the factory this week. Check the yoke/u-joint like already mentioned...that is the easiest way to see if you are good to go.

    RTV 06 Pics

Ah, I just saw this thread...great brochure images/info!
I don't think there is any plans to provide the Range Shift Assist mechanism or lower reverse gearing as retrofit kits, since they are mainlyinternal changes to the transmission. BTW, I think the reverse power change is closer to 12%...

    '06 RTV

The new air intake will mount to the right rear side of the ROPS and I don't think it has any additional air flow the way it is configured. It's larger mainly due to the extra air duct work and it's only meant to be usedwith the new turf utility model but Iimagine folks will retrofit it for...

RTV and a beegee box scrapper?

Well, if the dealer is prepared to fix any damage it might cause...then go for it. I would like to see a picture of it as well. It sounds like it would work, but a tractor & its style of transmission is better suited for this type of application...

    power steering

If you can hear it over the noise of the engine, I would say it is not normal. Is it coming from the steering valve just under the steering wheel or from the steering cylinder in the front of the vehicle between the front suspension A-arms? It sound like it is the cylinder...it's not that hard...

Almost a new Owner, couple of questions for the group

The HDWS tires work fine in packed snow (icy)covered roads in 4x4 mode. Yeah, the heater will not be much good if you do not have a complete cab.The Ramsey (wireless remote) winch is the best...the Warn winches are not powerful enough.
BTW, don't forget about this $400cab coupon Kubota is...
