Need help with new tires R-4 vs. turf

R4's suck in the snow. I would prefer to have turf tires with some chains. Chains don't work well with R4's either as they tend to fall between the lugs.

    Finish mower or topper?

The other thing that helped with the cut quality of the brush hog was to use check chains and let the top link float. Not the safest but the mower followed the contours of the ground much better. Keep your eye out for a Flail. I found mine for $800 and it runs great after some TLC.

    Direct TV & the internet

Yes, that is a good option. There are some good aircard options out there. Check with your local cell phone providers and then take a very close look at their coverage maps. The speeds may suck if you aren't in the right area.

    Direct TV & the internet

I had HughesNet and it really sucks. The upload speeds are terrible. I was signed on to one of the better service levels too. That being said - it is still better than dial-up! I would recommend asking around and seeing if there are any local alternatives. I use a local wireless ISP that...

    Thoughts on the Election?

Well said! I prefer a government that can't pass any new legislation to a government that is able to pass lots of legislation any day of the week. Give 'em two years and see how they do. I'm not expecting any "greatness" just more of the same with a left leaning tilt.

    Unions?

I worked tons of union jobs until I was in my late twenties. I've been through arbritrations and seen how the unions barely even work for the members any more. In my case I ended up running my own arbritration (and became the highest paid "clerk" in the company) because the union's lawyer was...

    Here come the tomatoes!

I do like a fried green tomatoe and bacon sandwich so I'll probably have more than a few of those. I'll ripen some tomatoes in the garage. They are not as good as the vine ripened but good enough for some sauce. I'm open for suggestions on green tomatoe recipes!
