My X900 broke at the manifold, I just put a straight out pipe on it , its a little loud, but I never wear my hearing aid anyway, might give it .5 more horse power,Lol
aurthuritis,
Are you saying there are 2 separate hydraulic oil reservoirs? If that were the case the oil in the transmission would never be filtered,
I always thought thru some marvel of Kubota engineering, the oil in the transmission compartment was circulated thru
oil cooler, oil tank under...
I would suggest if you do this to get a Good exhaust gas temperature gauge, installed in the exhaust manifold Before you make the change to get a baseline, on a Long Hard wide open pull.
I don't remember if I read this or was told,. But when you change both tanks & filters & clean the screen in supply line, jack it up and let it idle or run ar low speed both forward & reverse for several minutes.
Is this what you are looking for?
1. take the four bolts out of the rear plate that protects the filters.
this plate is just above the hitch. look to your left and
you will see the HVT speed lever attached to a heim joint and rod leading up at an angle.
remove the bolt attaching the rod and...
Afterthought,, it gets better, or not as much hold back, as the hours & miles go up. I've got 1294.4 hrs & 8482.6 miles on my X900, hardly noticeable, but then I may be just used to it too. But if you are in low range, it definitely has hold back.
From the 1st day of ownership of my X900 (3 years ago), I've worried about a stick or rock cutting the rubber hose after the filter especially at the right front tire where it has no protection. I try to check often.
As a side note, I bought a ZTR mower with a Kaw 852cc engine, the filter and...
Yes, it was only turning 3100, w/no load, I adjusted almost to the safety wired high idle stop, w/no load its about 3525, at the stop was its about 3575, On the farm use I will never hit max RPM's
BTW, I used this tach from amazon...
I never noticed HST lag, until I adjusted the HST & throttle, per this post, http://www.nettractortalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17626.
Now I notice the lag, may just be me, But it does go up the hill faster..
Not to hi-jack the thread, but had anyone checked the engine RPM, it is rated @ 3200 rpm, my X900 would only turn 3100 with one of those hand held LCD digital tack. I would think that would make a big difference in the performance of the transmission..
I would buy another Kubota x900.. Ive got 5 farm tractors, ( 3 different brands ), 1 RTV, 1 Honda Rancher. And every one has different quirks, Life is much easier to learn to live with the quirks. It aint a perfect world.
