That's not a wide price range so I'm guessing they're all similar products. You didn't give name brands or retailer's info but IMHO, they're probably close to being the same so I personally would buy the 196 pound version.

I think you may need to get the dealer to give you the total length. I just measured the length of my similarly sized tractor. With the loader on the front and a blade off the 3PH, I was at 15' give or take. It's going to be really close on the 16' length you have.

Welcome to the forum. Not sure if I can help making a selection for you as I don't know what's available on your side of the pond. The tractor is "at least" 50 years old. I don't know how long you've owned the tractor or if/when the brakes were replaced last but I'd find the choices available...

You mentioned that you need 18" holes. That's a big auger for a BX tractor. Might be OK if you don't hit anything. Can you rent one or do you have another source?

For a post hole digger, I've always used one off the 3-point hitch and PTO. It's one of those pieces of equipment that sits most of the time so amongst all my tractor friends, we just share one.

Who do you get along with better? Parts or Sales? The sales guys sell them as "whole goods" and their pricing may be different (and often times much better).

I was thinking of the dealer myself. When I was in the Kubota shop area, they had racks and piles of brand new tires (and rims) sitting there. When people buy a tractor but want different tires (e.g. it came with R4 but they want R1), the dealer takes off those brand new tires and piles them up.

I'm cheap. I just use my friend's grapple. ;)
