All Kubota parts are expensive IMO. This OEM U joint was $56 with shipping. The center bearing is $63 plus shipping. Except for this one very loose U joint, near the center bearing, the others are tight. If this does not fix the 4WD squeak I may go with the updated one piece shaft. Will the...

Got this. The snap ring at the center bearing had to come off, which provided enough movement to remove the shaft.

Is there a thread that provides specifics about how to remove the front drive shaft on the RTV900? The U joint is kaput. I have removed the spline/yoke pin on one side but there is no drive shaft movement after doing this. Does this require removal of the center bearing support? Hard to...

Thanks...this bearing has a slight amount of side play. It will be next on the list if the squeak remains. My RTV symptoms are the exact opposite of the OP in the attached thread. There is no squeak in 2WD it goes away immediately when shifting from 4WD to 2WD.

Along with this rattle the squeak (in 4wd only)has resurfaced. Don't normally use 4wd but it was required to haul short logs out of the woods. I discovered the U joint on the output shaft to the front differential is very loose. Lets see if a replacement resolves the squeak and rattle.

Update... Today I carried a crow bar, on the trip up the hill to the mailbox. It was long enough to hook the differential drive shaft, with the seat raised. No vibration sound while idling in the garage, but once again the intermittent vibration was noticeable at the top of the hill. When...

I recall reviewing this site, many moons ago. Never thought the drive shaft would be an issue while parked. I will check this before wrenching anything and update this thread.

This RTV is a 2005. The sound is not heard with the cargo bed raised, its most noticeable with the hood or bench seat tilted up. I never serviced the transmission, just confirmed the fluid level. Been occupied with other machine activities but will research further the next decent weather day.

After climbing a hill to my mail box, with the engine idling, there is an intermittent vibration sound from around the front of the engine. Sounds rotational, like an alternator or water pump bearing. But I pulled the belt and spun both, there is no end play or pulley binding, the belt is snug...
