    My Gibson

Howdy OldRon. Welcome to NTT. I guess I forgot to hit the 'post' button and lost my first attempt to say hello. I like your Gilson.:applause: I like anything as old (or almost as old in this case) as I am. It looks really good. Interesting rain guard on that exhaust. Put a...

    An Old Farmer's Advice

That's a great collection, Brandi. Kinda like the philosophy in Poor Richard's Almanac. Some I've seen in sig lines on Usenet and some are new to me, but I can generally relate to all of 'em. Here's a few more I've come across at one time or another: -If you try to chase two rabbits you end...

    Ping Milwaukee -- Gilson YT11HE

I was able to do a little more today since it wasn't raining. This first shot is looking through the jack under the front axle and tie rod. It's more like a tie channel since it's not a rod but a stamped channel. I will probably replace the channel with an adjustable tie rod or shorten and...

Yea Doug they like 'em to work, too. I bet Brandi has heard of the hangin' Judge Ted Poe. (That's NOT me!) Our Honorable US Rep now.:thumb: And you know what? They pronounce it "rowDAYoh". Who ever heard of such a thing.:yum: Obviously they never climbed on the back of a one ton mad...

Hey Doug -- does that mean I live on the down right coast? Even though the Gulf Coast is within spittin' distance all the shrimp is now quick frozen as it's caught.:fishing:   Yep...all of 'em. But...the oysters still cringe when you hit 'em with the Tabasco! Ted...

Doug there should be a 12 step program for this attack on your senses and sanity. I'll try to locate the hotline number. Starbucks does not treat their coffee beans as would you or I. They get them green not big fat juicy red ones when they roast the beans they don't stop at just a light...

    Not Everyone Here is Rich!!!

Hey Doug. That blue tractor you buried is trying to climb back out.:brows: :yum: Texas has some pretty stringent laws about redirecting natural watersheds when it impacts adjacent landowners. Of course, in some parts west and south of here water is a primary concern. We have plenty...

Uhmm...I suspected as much. If one were to receive one of these certificates, would it offend anyone if it was redeemed at Dunkin' Donuts instead? I don't want to get flamed:bash: or (Heaven forbid) banned. I have tried Starbucks several times over the years. Each time I...

Welcome to NTT GreenMtns:wave: Great looking place and drivers. I drove a '68 Goat until the 4WD craze nabbed me in 1976. Wish I still had it. Don't have anything like the cab on that JD, though. Looks like it would work pretty good in the heat we get down here. Texas has lots of...

    Don't you hate it when...

Wow that never happens on Ask This Old House (or more likely, they never show us that part). I really hate it when this domino effect crops up. And yes, it's always at the worst possible time. EDIT: I have removed all the Murphyisms from this post (I hope!). Good Luck next year. Ted

    Ping Milwaukee -- Gilson YT11HE

Thanks Dan The specs I can find all call for 44oz SAE 90W EP gear oil for the diff and up to 8 pints ATF Type A for the hydro. I've read where others (individuals) use Dextron and Dextron III, but I think that is for Eaton units. More research is needed to pin it down. Thanks for the heads...

    Ping Milwaukee -- Gilson YT11HE

Just a few updates on the transaxle. Gunk and a pressure washer took most of the accumulated grease off. The differential unit is a Peerless Model 1334 date code 5231 6664. I have found an IPB for it at Small Engine Suppliers. The only markings on the hydro assy. is stamped behind the fan...

Where do you draw the line?

So where would the CJ2 fit in? After WWII Willys had fit ups for plows, discs, etc. I guess they ran the PTO to the back - the transfer cases I've seen were all forward facing for winches. I remember the magazine ads with the little jeep out there plowing away. Don't think I ever...
