    One for Brandi: Damaged Helicopter

Of sheep and sheepdogs Of Sheep and Sheepdogs If you haven't seen this, I think it defines our country today... personally I hope there are enough of us sheepdogs around to keep our great country safe. Supposedly, this letter was written by Charles Grennel and his comrades, veterans of the...

    My patch o' dirt

I haven't had any luck with cedars on my place...don't know why. Back where I was raised in L.A. (that's Lower Alabama), cedars and pines grow like crazy. Many a peanut field has been planted in pines in the past two decades. They are fast becoming, if not already, the cash crop of choice.

    One for Brandi: Damaged Helicopter

Damaged Helicopter Bet it'd take a few hours to get this baby back in the air! Here's one of the US OH-58D Combat Scouts from Iraq. Needless to say, they got into a little hostile territory. This thing took hundreds of rounds and yet returned its crew back to base, including direct hits...

    My patch o' dirt

Ted, they don't smell good, or bad. Now, growing up in Southeast Alabama, there were plenty of odiferous trees and plants. Honeysuckle was my favorite. Dogwood was my mom's.

    CheyennePaints Ranch

Brandi, I love my Kubota, but that is one nice RED tractor you have there. Especially the backhoe. One day...one day....I'll get one. What you say about rocks and stones is true! I was amazed when I got here and saw businesses that specialize in selling rocks. The previous owner of my...

No guys, I am at work...and that may have something to do with it. Our comm folks prevent us from going to Photobucket or any photo repositories. I'll check it at home. I bet that's the problem. Many thanks!:tiphat:

Anyone know why some images don't come up for me? On some, all I get is a box with an X in it. Maybe some setting I've got wrong? Any help is appreciated.

    My patch o' dirt

Brandi, they are Bradford pear trees. Ornamental. They are beautiful when they bloom...snow white and covered. They make little berry-like fruits instead of pears, and the rabbits love them when they fall in the winter. I had eight, until a windstorm got one, leaving the trunk. It sprouted...

    Moving to New Jersey

Moving to New Jersey This happened on a flight ready to depart for Newark, New Jersey . Jack was sitting in his assigned seat when a guy took the seat beside him. The guy was an emotional wreck, pale, hands shaking, moaning in fear. "What's the matter?" Jack asked. "I've been transferred...

    Thoughts and Prayers

rback33, will definitely keep your family in my prayers. My mother died early (at 56 y.o.) and my last grandmama died two years ago. They leave big holes in a family when they pass, but you'll likely draw together as a family, closer as a result. Ours did. God be with you, my friend.

    My patch o' dirt

Thanks for the compliments! :tiphat: Modest by some people's standards, but I grew up poor in south Alabama, and I could wish for none better. All 20 years of moving all over the globe, I had one goal: To retire from active duty and use my pension to pay for my house and land. You'd be...

    A 6 year old and a 4 year old

It is hard to find a joke today without a dirty word or two in it, but, here is one: Two tall trees, a birch and a beech, are growing in the woods. A Small tree begins to grow between them, and the beech says to the birch, "Is that a son of a Beech or a son of a Birch?" The birch says he...
