    Do You Use Tire Goop?

Ted, that method is still done today, though probably less now. A friend of mine told me that sometimes they'd add big chunks of steel every 20 foot or so to keep the chain up at the right level. They'd let the chain loop up back behind the dozers and break everything down. The object was to...

    Gopher plow?

Oh, there's still a lot of varmint hunting to be done here. Not enough is done at present. I've got a good friend that makes outstanding calls...PM me and I'll give you his web site if anyone is interested. We're going to build a truck bed-mounted shooting stand in the near future...

    Gopher plow?

One of my customers hired me to pull a "gopher plow" and I was wondering if anyone else had heard of this piece of equipment. It is basically a simple heavy duty planter that drops poison into "tunnels" made by a chisel. Any knowledge of its use/effectivity?

New shed out of old materials

So I finally got a roof on the shed a couple of weeks ago, but just now have the time to update the post. My progress to date...

    Garden Expansion

That's a nice garden spot! Bottom-plowing is just one of those occasions when I wish i had a spare set of rear wheels with R-1s! Oh, the picture of the donkeys is nice...especially with that pumpjack and windmill in the background.

    I just found this!

If you catch them at the right time, (and maybe all the time?) you'll get bonus materials like "Schoolbuses and Combines" and the like, in which they've compiled into one magazine all the conversions and inventions based on old schoolbuses and combines. That's pretty cool. The kind of stuff...

    DIESEL DRUM & ELECTRIC PUMP

Yeah, battery charger (trickle-type) or solar cell and a small 12v battery. I doubt you'll be satisfied without the battery. I've tried to power 12v stuff straight off of a charger before, and found that the battery is needed. You can get it figured out. Necessity is a mother...or something...

    DIESEL DRUM & ELECTRIC PUMP

Nice job. I was thinking about doing the same someday. Just one of many, many projects I need to make/find time for. How's the pump working out?

    Can't get full RPM

    Duh, disregard that last post...not a diesel...oops!

    Can't get full RPM

I had water in the diesel one time, and had the same symptoms. Have you checked your filter bowl? I had filled up at a small convenience store and they had mass quantities of water in the fuel. A lot of people were affected, and instead of fixing the problem, they stopped selling diesel.

    Adam & Eve

Adam was hanging around the garden of Eden feeling very lonely. So, God asked him, 'What's wrong with you?' Adam said he didn't have anyone to talk to. God said that He was going to make Adam a companion and that it would be a woman. He said, 'This pretty lady will gather food for...

Never underestimate the looks of another

Doc, that's especially true here in north Texas...old ranching and oil money. Guys driving around in old pickups, work clothes, just good ol' boys and worth millions...you'd never know it. Now, from my experience, if a woman has money...everyone is gonna know it! (Brandi, don't kill me!)

Never underestimate the looks of another

Never underestimate the looks of another A lady in a faded gingham dress and her husband, dressed in a homespun threadbare suit, stepped off the train in Boston, and walked timidly without an appointment into the Harvard University President's outer office. The secretary could tell in a moment...

    Cheap Front Weights??

You're gonna laugh...I tore down a barn recently and picked a weight machine up. Immediately, I thought about using the weights on my tractor...my son wanted it for what it already was. It's still out there in the pasture, awaiting a move on either party.

    The rules of flying...

The rules of flying: 1. Every takeoff is optional. Every landing is mandatory. 2. If you push the stick forward, the houses get bigger. If you pull the stick back, they get smaller. That is, unless you keep pulling the stick back, then they get bigger again. 3. Flying isn't dangerous...

What can you buy for $100+ barrels of oil?

Sure, I agree with that. I'll also go out on a limb here and say that the majority of Americans have not changed their driving habits one bit...hammering the accelerator on take-off, speeding, and passing anyone they can. I see it every time I leave home...and that demonstration of stupidity...

What can you buy for $100+ barrels of oil?

I'll buy the supply and demand argument when it comes to the greatly increased price of diesel, but that is a limited throughput condition caused by EPA requirements for zero sulfur emissions. But for the rest of the petroleum products, and the base from which all dino fuels are made, we are...
