    30 or 35 series?

top and tilt means using a hydraulic top link and replacing the adjustible side link for the right 3 point arm with a hydraulically adjustible one as well. This lets you adjust your left/right tilt and top angle without leaving the seat. very handy if you do a lot of dirt work with a box blade.

    Compact Tractor Pricing?

the CK/Bobcat with its extra mass will be a better dirt (or snow) mover than the Kub or CC. Industrials are pretty turf friendly, and are the most puncture resistant of the tires available for compact tractors. I think these are cat 1 machines, so you may need bushings for your existing...

    TYM Tractors

I use my box blade with some homemade concrete blocks for a counterweight - works great, although a heaped bucket of wet sand will still bounce the back tires if I drop it too fast. (also good to know I'm not the only one who finds the hydraulics a bit touchy)

    trailer to haul hoe

depending on where you are, there are companies that will custom build to your spec. I have a 76" x 16' + 2' dovetail tandem axle 7k rated trailer with dual hydraulic (surge) brakes rather than electric brakes and a rough sawn white oak deck. It was build by Hedererbuilt of Poplar Bluff, Mo...

    30 or 35 series?

my 3510 has 28 or 29 PTO HP and it pulls a 6' brush hog with no problems - I see no reason why the 5035 would not handle a 7' mower. If you don't need the sheer grunt of a 60 HP machine, the 4x4 is very nice, especially when mowing on slopes or uneven ground, and the slightly smaller...

What to do with a rusted out SUbaru????

I like the off road/UTV idea. if you have a way to shape metal, you could pull the fenders and replace them with pieces from a cut up 55 gallon barrel for mud guards. Pull the doors, cut the body behind the front seats, weld up a frame for a dump bed and line it with 3/4" treated plywood or...

    Fuel usage

my gauge is wonky - 5 gallons fills the tank according to it, but 2 hours of brush hogging at 2600 RPM (540 PTO speed) uses 1/4 tank or less.

grumble - KK 6' brush hog

thanks guys. Cowboy - I run it at 540, just like it says to. I've only had it a little over a year, so hopefully calling will do me some good.

grumble - KK 6' brush hog

<rant on> I've only had this thing a year & change, it's been used less than 25 hours. The nut holding one of the blades on loosens 1 1/2-2 turns after 2-3 hours of running, then it starts banging against the stump jumper. (and the hole cut in the top of the deck to get to this nut with a socket...

Has anyone seen the New SC2400 Cub Cadet Yanmar?

I'd vote belly mower for the lawn. unless you're going to be spending a lot of time doing dirt work on rough ground, I'd probably vote for turf tires, too. Otherwise, Industrials aren't too bad on grass, and have more rubber so are not as likely to punch a hole driving over rough stuff.
