For those that purchase a mower since '94

yeah - I'm well past needing to mow. But the rider is still in the shop and I'm not up to pushing the craftsman mower uphill that much. (yard on a slope)

    TYM workout

I thought up to 30 was subcompact utility, 28-50 was compact utility, 50-80 was utility, and 80+ was "full sized ag". but - an AC D17 is considered an ag machine, and it's pretty close to the same size as my 3510. (and has nowhere near the pulling power as a neighbor of mine discovered a couple...

For those that purchase a mower since '94

actually, on my mower - I figured they did the same thing with how they measure output that the auto manufacturers and electric motor folks did years back. they changed how they define HP. (I know part of this is because of materials improvements, but not all of it) a 20 year old 1/2HP electric...

For those that purchase a mower since '94

the letter i got on this last night said you can also opt for an extended warranty rather than the $$. while I generally hate class action suits, this option almost sounds worth it to me, especially since I've already had the mower in for warranty service once.

Oil and Hydraulic Question for an Newbie Please

welcome to the forum! PBinWa has a 2516, so he should be able to answer your questions w/out any problem. at the 50 hour maintenance you drain the front axel and after that I'd be surprised if the tractor generates very many shavings, unless you abuse the MFWD. If you're really worried about...

    First mow of the season

since it keeps raining Friday/Saturday, it's too wet to mow -- my mower is going in for its annual tune-up/service Friday, so I will hopefully be able to use it next week (if the ground dries) Pastures and hayfield are looking good, though. Cowboy - I'm diappointed in you. I don't see any...

    An Eventful Week-End

Bob - you can have some of my rain. I even have standing water on the slopes in my pasture! We get nice sunny warm weather m-th, then it starts raining Friday about noon and goes through until Sunday - every weekend the last 5 or 6, except for the ones where it snowed on us. :(

    pto speeds

some folks use the 1100 RPM PTO speed at half throttle for low HP jobs - lets them get the RPMs without burning as much fuel. finish mowing is one of the uses I've heard of folks doing this.

Just outside of Hutch - you've got a GREAT resource in your backyard if that's true! Welcome to the forums. The 2740 is a nice machine, but the operator platform is a bit tight for me. :) and don't worry about getting stuck - that's what the FEL is for! (we've all done it - just ask Doc) More...

    Tractor stuck :(

I use a real estate sign for my target holder -- Klumpe has a buddy who is REAL green when it comes to pistols and he keeps hitting the steel frame... more on topic - I've used sawdust to pick up the worst of spills - then use it as fire starter in the shop stove.

    Tractor stuck :(

we had 4-6" of snow that drifted the road shut again after the plow went through. it got replowed Sunday around 1. I stayed inside and helped keep the 3 month old neice and her other aunt & uncle entertained.

How to fix a cracked BX24 (Plastic) Fender

CJ7 beat me to it -- mender plate. epoxy it in place and use a couple of pop rivets to hold it there while the epoxy sets, then paint them orange.
