lots of seat time this weekend

snow started Thursday afternoon. ended for the most part by Saturday morning. spent a couple hours each Thurs-Sat clearing the drive & parking. Spent most of yesterday digging other folks out. other than the 180 spin coming out of one drive yesterday (on a hill, of course) it was pretty...

    snow day!

sorry - no pictures. we got about 8". would have been more if we hadn't had 6 hours of rain Tuesday between shows. (there were 4" on the ground before the rain, then it became 1/2" of ice under the next 8") I spent about 6 hours on the tractor clearing driveways yesterday - with my lunch break...

    snow day!

snow day today - governor called off all non-essential state employees in and around Topeka, so no commute today. :D that means I get to use the tractor to dig out the driveway, build a sled hill, etc... and justify my heavy oilskin coat!

    Any Firearm Guys here ?

not a problem - wish I had some spare $$ right now to jump on part of that deal myself. Instead, we're shelling out $750 for clutch repairs on the wife's car today.

    Any Firearm Guys here ?

gun on the left is an SKS with synthetic stock. those are good brush guns - fixed 10 round magazine, performs a lot like a 30-30, only ammo is cheaper. the AK is a good deal according to my buddy down your way who's into them. extra mags can be picked up pretty cheap, too. you might also check...

    Oil field pipe value ?

I bet you could turn a 31' stick of pipe into a $50 firewood rack.

    Any Firearm Guys here ?

that might be a good one, or it might be one of the rifles currently selling for about $380 -- down from the "panic sale" pricing 6 months ago of $7-800. OTOH, no sales tax and private sale is a good thing, and Wolf 7.62x39 is pretty low cost. (and works fine in these things)

    Oil field pipe value ?

I think BD means chop it into smaller pieces and sell for scrap. if you have a welder handy, I'd make up some more of those wood racks and offer them on craig's list. you could also weld up a pretty decent park bench and give it a coat of rust converter and sell those.

NH 1925 tractor with FEL ?

most folks don't really understand what "cash on the barrelhead" really means. I worked in a pawn shop for a couple of years and folks would come in and ask what our "best price" or "cash price" on something was. then they'd either try to make a lower bid, or they'd want to pay with a credit...

when you get tired of that stainless 10/22, let me know :) congrats on the new plinker. if you want cheap feed for that hi-point, the wolf .40 should work fine. check Cabela's online as well - I think they're offering free shipping at the moment.

    Any Firearm Guys here ?

no worries - there is plenty of info out there for care and feeding of an AR. (basic maintenance, cleaning, etc...) If this one falls through for you, check J&G sales online - they've got a special running right now for buy a rifle and get 800 rounds thrown in for $98. I think you get your...

    Any Firearm Guys here ?

that's not a bad price. current production wolf is decent ammo, but some folks think it's dirty, so clean the thing good when you're done - and not just swab the barrel.

    Any Firearm Guys here ?

Bob - 5.56 is the military designation for .223. the only difference between the 2 is that true mil surplus 5.56 is a higher pressure round than commercial .223, so this rifle can shoot either without any potential problems. One thing to check when the rifle shows up will be to look for the...

    Any Firearm Guys here ?

you're getting a good deal - the Colt Heavy Barrel upper can cost pretty close to that on its own. .223 is a great coyote round, too. If you REALLY want to see some drooling, post this on FF in the gun section. :) There are a handful of "AR fanatics" who will make plenty of happy noises about...
