What your running into most likely is the push pull cable that attaches to the peddle on one end and the bellcrank at the other is just slightly out of wack. You always want the bellcrank to rest in the detent at the highest possible peddle. The way you adjust this is to loosen the clamp that...

What you are trying to do is a bad idea. Replace the whole rotary valve assembly. Get a new assembly or buy a complete used one on ebay?

If they think I'm going to give that much more just for a few features they are crazy. I love my x1100c and it has and still works hard every day. I can buy a roxor for the difference in trade price they want for me to trade into a new x1100c. And keep my old machine

If your having trouble shifting all you need to do is adjust the linkage. Your hst speed control lever is resting to far toward swash engagement at neutral peddle.

It should fit right in.

Sorry i don't have a k connect but i do have a solution for taking the skid plates off for service. Just get an oil evacuator and suck out the oil from the dipstick tube on the engine. The transmission drains aren't covered by plates
