Trouble in keeping running in cold

Waxing...Geling...or Icing..odds are one of the three has clogged up your fuel filter...I've had experience in the past of water trapped in the filter and freezing and choking off the flow of fuel flow and it wasn't very cold (like +25f). HTR4, mark, dan and all has some good info above..Swap out...

    prepared for ice and snow

Stepped out onto the back deck to top up the bird feeders and because it was a quick exit/return I didn't bother to put on a jacket. Upon re-entry, I remarked to the Missus that it had really warmed up. Glanced at the thermometer out there and saw that it was 0 degrees F. Think I have gotten...

Got me beat....Only 20 below here.I got a bunch of laneways waiting to be cleared...Hate blowing snow in these temps, the cab is cosy warm but when it's this cold the metal is brittle as heck....Shear bolt slicing weather. :angry3:

Beautiful cloudless day here in my part of Ontario and warming up nicely. Was 22 below farenheit when the dog and I went to get the morning paper at the end of the lane way at 7:00am but at now at 10:30am it has warmed up all the way to only 10 below. Spring is coming....I think. Was blowing...

    Slipping Hydrostatic transmission?

I call it fluid mechanix...low pressure=hi volume..high pressure=low volume...tromp on the go pedal and you are trading torque for speed..Unfortunately the RTV also lowers. engine rpm at the same time....Hand throttle keeps the rpm up so when you back off on the pedal torque to the wheels...

    Slipping Hydrostatic transmission?

As others have said....that's the nature of the beast....If not already equipped, a hand throttle is a useful feature for plowing snow...You can set the engine rpms and use the go pedal more in the fashion of a HST tractor....That's what I do on my 900.

    Side rails X1100 disappointed

Maplenut....is that your sap gathering tank?......and if you ever tire of that plow I know of a needy foreign aid recipient (namely me) who would gladly take it off your hands...BTW...can almost smell that sap boiling.....what, another 6 weeks or so?

    Side rails X1100 disappointed

Keifer....glad you posted the 3rd photo....The other 2 had me thinking the bed wouldn't lift without removing the screen. A variation of my 900 'fab' fab should work.

    Another Coolant Leak Part Two

Out of running the risk of being accused of being 'kinda dumb' by others, May I ask if you wouldn't by chance have been filling the reservoir to the upper mark when engine is cold? I made that error in the past and couldn't figure out why my reservoir kept dropping to the low mark...

    Weather with RTV

Mrs Kanook is going to think the ole timer disease has finally got to me when I start keeping a pickle on the bedside table.

    Side rails X1100 disappointed

Here is how I built the rails on my 04 RTV900...I cut slits in the 1 x 1 , bent to desired shape and then welded the compreesed slits closed. I would not have been able to operate the hydraulic box otherwise. I bolted rather than weld the side rails to the front simply to make them easier to...

    Turning signals mystery

Keifer...The distant past is always better when viewed thru rose coloured glasses...I do recall a trip to NYC back in summer 1968 and a fill up somewhere in the vicinity of Albany that cost 22cents / gallon. That darn Fairlane hated to start in winter, %%$$#$@$$ automatic choke.

Agree with Zoomie.....Flush what ever is in the transmission and put some Kubota branded UDT in along with fresh filters and take from there. ....and welcome to the forum.

    RTV vs BX snow plowing

Curious as to why you don't consider hanging a blower off the front (or back) of that little BX..???
