    Testing alternator???

It's pushing 14.7 volts so it's probably OK. I hooked the battery charger up to recharge the battery and it's reading 100% even though it only ran for about 5 minutes after it wouldn't start at all. Me thinks the battery is toast. :confused2:

    Testing alternator???

Anybody know of an easy way to test the alternator on a RTV 500? I've gone to start my 500 a few times now and had to get a battery jump box to get it to kick over. I know the winch draws alot of power and I could just be running it down but I want to be certain my alternator is OK while it's...

    Something different...

Very nice, I like the compactness of the unit. I would also think with the electric motor power that it would be incredibly torquey.:a1: I'd be interested to hear what you think of it over a longer term like a year or two, they maybe just the thing the UTV market needs.

    welding

As soon as you throw aluminum into the mix I say go for a new Lincoln 140 or 180 welder, they are spoolgun capable out of the box. Depends on what you've got for available power which one you want, if you've only got 110V there go for the 140 and don't look back. If you ever run into...

Big lug tires OR chains- which first?

If it was my choice I would keep the worksite tires and add super studded diamond chains to the tires.....chained worksite tires are going to be far better than deep lugged tires in ice and about the same as snow. Chains sit very well on worksite tires, if you need to chain big lug tires your...

    Kubota/Warn Winch Install

    1) I left the warn instructions right in the box and followed the Kubota instructions, the install was quick and easy that way. 2) I don't have a grill guard so I just reach in and disengage the clutch 3) It really only needs 4 bolts, they are plenty strong to hold the winch. The only thing...

    Tire chains?

My only complaint with tirechains.com is that they don't always have a very good chain. Ladder chains work well for some guys but for me I want a chain that is in contact with the ground all the time....their selection of diamond or logging chains is extremely limited.

    Tire chains?

It would likely be a better deal for you to purchase your chains locally but I would recommend you look at a diamond studded chain....look for chains like the one on the far right. http://www.unionfarmequip.com/store/chains/atv.html It's hard to beat having chain on the ground all the time...

    New Kubota 900

They are a very useful tool for sure. I find myself using my little 500 all time, even if only for a 5 minute job. I never use my truck to move trailers around the house anymore, out comes the buggy....hauling wood around, moving dang near anything....it's the best wheelbarrow I've ever...
