I'm guessing the 900 has more room around the wheels than the 500 then, I'm unable to slip my hand between the strut and the front tire....the leverage clamp was close to clearing but made contact with the strut housing in the front. The back chain made firm contact with the parking brake cable.

The tires I have are 24x10-12's on the back and 24x9-12's on the front. I have the worksite tires.

Has anyone successfully installed tire chains on a RTV 500? I picked up some ICC Super Diamond ATV chains but I'm running into interference problems in front with the strut housing and in the rear with the parking brake cable.:cuss:

Good luck. I got rid of my squeak for a couple weeks and now it's back....I think my next fix is to just drive it on warm days.:brows:

I don't believe a 4k pound winch will be capable of pulling nearly that much load, as far as the gas winch I don't believe that will help your rtv much either....once you get over that 4k pound winch's capability I think you're just going to drag your rtv along anyway. That is a very large and...

How large are the logs you intend to pull? Are you pulling full length of just small sections? Although rated for pulling rolling loads you can still pull large dead weight loads like a fallen tree with the winch it's just your capacity would be lower. I went with the Kubota Warn kit and it...

Gotcha, I think any fuse or breaker large enough to handle the load of that winch is going to be huge to the point it's not likely to trip anyway. You might want to install a switch that allows you to cut power to your winch when it's not in use....if you have any type of melt down on the...

Did your winch include a contactor? Like this one? Also I'm not sure which RTV you have but on my 500 the winch was bolted down with 4 bolts, 2 doesn't seem like enough to me.

Well I took the plunge, since I'm not sure a 25" tire will work well with the RTV 500 I called the dealer and told them to get me a set of the original equipment atv tires and rims for my RTV. They look pretty aggressive and I'll at least know they are going to fit.:cool:

Around here it's $200 cheaper to buy the RTV with the ATV tires. Definitely what I would suggest, I have the worksite tires and they stink out loud in mud, the dealer talked me into them saying they were a much better tire and if I got the atv tires I would likely encounter flats all the time.

Has anyone tried 25" tires on their RTV 500? I want to put a nice mud tire on my RTV 500 but all the tires I've seen that I would like to purchase are 25", 26" , or 27" tires.... I wasn't sure if anybody on the board had first hand experience with the larger 25" tires or not on a 500.

I've been very happy with Amsoil products but I haven't seen any that are a substitute for the Super UDT Kubota fluid. I will say that their gear lubes and motor oils have worked very well for me in my vehicles, my International tractor and my 150hp outboard. Where the Kubota needs so little...

I'm looking forward to seeing how my little Eagle country plow works but I'm not quite ready for snow just yet.....I was bass fishing yesterday in 80 deg weather :brows: I guess that's the beauty of living in the "deep south" :wall:

I feel it is overkill for my intended use of the machine. There are times when I'd like to have one, like plowing snow in the winter but then in the summer I want the air so I'd have to remove it. I also use my RTV for hunting so in cold weather I think there would be an icing problem on all...

The price sounds fair to me, the hours are pretty low for the year and the cab adds a lot to the value in my opinion, well that is if you want a cab. Personally I jump on and off my RTV so many times doing chores I don't want to fumble around with doors and in the summer I do like the wind...

Didn't find it the first time but after putting less in my search I was able to locate it. Looks like you nailed it, pull the wheel and grease or spray the shaft. Thanks
