    1510D update

    The engine is now rebuilt, but the mechanic messed with the injector pump instead of simply removing it. The pump is going to the injection service shop today. More $$$. I should have done the job myself!:pat:

    Just pulled down YM1510 D engine - arghh!

    Needs rings, bearings, gaskets, possibly pistons. Had topped up the oil, then worked it for two days moving a burn pile. The next day it wouldn't start. Low compression. I blamed an inadequate air filtration system, but it was almost out of oil! Don't know how that happened in tow days...

    New problem: 1510 is hard starting.

    Up until now, my 1510 started quickly and easily. On a cold morning, I would have to hold the preheat on for 10 seconds. But now in 95 degree weather, I have to hold the preheat on for thirty seconds to get it to start. And today, I ran the battery down trying to start it. Runs fine once...

    My 1510 is smoking like a hot-rodded Cummins.

    The radiator was plugged up and it was overheating when the smoking started. I got the radiator out , had it repaired, and the engine is running at normal temps now, losing no water. But the engine is emitting diesel smioke like a Cummins on steroids. Did I glaze my rings and walls? Would...

    Bobcat 453 inner wheel bearings

    I took it to the trade school and they said they changed all the wheel bearings (I provided the parts!), but obviously they didn't change the inner bearings and the axles flop all over the place, causing the chain to jump. Any one done this job before and can offer advice?:( I know someone...

    Throttle shaft binding on 1510D

    I've sprayed it with penetrant and worked it back and forth but it's not loosening much.
