Welcome New Members

bczoom, Was looking thru the posts on this new site and found this thread. I laughed so much I had to invite my wife and daughter in the room to read your home remedies. They thought that number 5 was the best and so true. I don't usually share what the boys are talking about but I do make...

    WV Hideaway

Blueone, Almost heaven, right? Looks like a great place to hunker down and raise a family. I just got back from town to our hollow in the woods and while I'm away from the woods I'm missing them. While I'm in the woods I'm dreading going back to town.

    ATV Log Arch

Good idea on the built in lift method. I had not thought of that. I checked my books and eastern white cedar is about 1/2 the weight of the oak and hickory I am using but I'm pretty sure the bed is stout enough to do it. I was just trying to find out if any other member had used a log arch...

    ATV Log Arch

Jim, I didn't check their review site but thanks for the info, as I said the rest of it looks like it can stand a load but I agree the wheels look like the weakest link.

    ATV Log Arch

Yep, It looks pretty heavy duty. I know that just by lifting up the front end of the log your pulling power goes way up. Besides with four wheels and the metal pipe and bolts it's probably nearly worth the price for scrap!

    ATV Log Arch

I found a shipping crate at a local discount house containing an ATV Log-Skidding Arch & Holder part #117010 from Northern Industrial Tools. I can get it for about 1/4 of the list price (originally $399, I think from the shipping label in the box. Looks like everything in the parts manual is...

    Got Goats?

Jim, Sorry I have not replied sooner, I had to wait for the snow to melt off of my satelite dish so I could access the internet. That's one of the drawbacks of living in the sticks and having a dish on your roof I guess. Let me know if I can help with your learning process on the goats.

    Got Goats?

My daughter is a sophmore there. Transfered from Waverly district when we moved here seven years ago. BTW that breeder that BigDog sent you is a good one to do business with. Talk to the other parents and see what they are doing but remember you get what you pay for in young goats just like...

    Got Goats?

This is getting a little weird! My wife and I visited your new home when the contractor had the open house and met your wife and a daughter who showed us where her new room was going to be! Nice place. My daughter goes to the same school. Small world. I felt so bad when I drove by the day...

    Got Goats?

Jim, I guess that we are neighbors, we live just off the north end of Dixon Mill on Gibson Hollow Rd. Stop by if you need more goat insight. I can tell you about some local goat people. I came to this forum from Messicks Kubota forum so will be in touch on some of these other threads.

    Got Goats?

Jim, From your posting location and the time of your county fair, I'm guessing maybe you are in Ross County? Not sure if they have a dairy goat class or only a meat class. Check with your 4H advisor/office to be sure, they can direct you. Most kids around this area raise Boer meat goats, and...

    wood

Sorry for trying to make it more complicated than what you got going on there. Maybe the info may help some other 'bota ownerdown the road.
You'll know when you startcutting the bigger trees if you have fire damage in the butts, if it's not already obvious, you may still take off the...

    wood

Tommy, I've been reading these posts with some interest and I feel like I should jump into the mix with some ideas. I've worked with a lot of owners, loggers and sawmills and they all have their own perspectiveon how a logging job should procede from start to finish. I know that you are already...

    Lets have a fish fry!

    Muleman,
I would agree that is some Northern Pike but I saw some guys circulating that picture at the donut shop. They swear it was caught in Rainy Lake in Canada. Whereever it was caught it's a great story! As with a lot of photos of trophy bucks and turkeys there might be some truth in...

    rtv900 tailgate

Based on past experience and what little I have learned over the years, I'm pretty sure that the trees won't move if they hear your back-up alarm beeping. But if a tree falls in the forest you can hear it! Your wife just may not believe you when...

    changing fuel filter

Wow, I guess that I'm dating myself. Bought a 205-4 in '85 brand new, great little tractor for it's size. All I could afford at the time.

    changing fuel filter

Thanks to all that replied, I knew I could count on this crew for help. Sounds a lot easier than my Massey tractor what with bleeding the pressure lines and all. I'm not sure how this system is different but if it self bleeds that's great.

    changing fuel filter

Can someone walk me thru the steps to change my fuel filter on a 900? I seem to remember reading somewhere that the system is self-bleeding but wanted to be sure that I know what is the correct way before I start.
