They are pick up heads, the crop (looks like wheat) is cut & windrowed then picked up by the head. You have probably seen grain platforms which cut & feed the crop through all in one pass. Platforms can be over 40' wide with an auger or belts feeding the crop to the threshing area. A stripper...

If your joystick is a 3 function (3 spool) joystick you can plumb it in & use the joystick. If not, you can always plug into your rear remotes & use your levers to operate it. Buy a Westendorf grapple & we'll send you all the parts you need!
Having 2 cylinders not connected to one another allows each side of the grapple to operate independently. One cylinder will receive fluid 1st causing it to close 1st. Once pressure is placed on the cylinder the fluid goes to the other cylinder. This allows you to grasp uneven payloads. Have...
Same here, we had a dairy & the only babying going on was with the calves. 185=no 3rd gear, 180=no 1st or 4th gear. We never fixed them. We also had a 6080, 7010, 7020, 7060 & a Gleaner F-3. Alot of orange paint.
She's probably right, we don't have alot of dealers on the West Coast. Some dealers don't publish all the products they carry or can get 1)they want (us) to pay to have it on there or 2) they deal with so many different mfgs or distributors they don't have the space or time to list everything.
AC were innovators in the industry. We had a 185 diesel w/well over 10,000 hrs. We never had the valve covers off. The only problems we had were with the hydraulics & transmission. Did you know the turbines in the Hoover dam were built by Allis-Chalmers?
OK, I'll tell on myself, I work for Westendorf. The model you need depends on what loader you have. If you can tell me your loader make & model I can tell you. They do come off fairly easy. I didn't want to seem biased which is why I didn't publish the fact I work there.
You need a "power beyond block" if you want to be able to use your remotes & your loader. With some model tractors you can use a generic one, others are model specific.
There are many different joysticks as well as mounting options. If you had a remote joystick with a cable you could mount it in a location that would allow you to still enter/exit. They do cost more than a valve w/direct joystick though.
I grew up on a small beef cattle farm. When I was growing up I also worked for every neighbor we had on their farms. When I started college I began milking for a neighbor full-time; going to class (sometimes) in between milking & feeding.
I didn't want to say who I work for now because I'm...
I hate to plug myself but if it makes a difference I wrote a couple of these songs in a tractor. www.cdbaby.com/drylandfish
Good songs to disc, cut hay, or do just about anything to.
Teeth work well to help loosen the sod, without them you end up scooting over the top or going too deep. There are some quick attatch teeth on the market that would be more cost effective than another bucket.
If it were me & I didn't have a joystick, before I rebuilt the old valves I would upgrade to a joystick. Once you use one, you will never use 2 handles again. Of course if you already have one, rebuild it & go on.
Hello everyone, I just wanted to formally introduce myself. I am from KY, grew up on a farm, milked cows for someone else for about 10 years & now work in the industry. I love tractors & talking about them.
