The “main hyd tank” does indeed share the fluid with the transmission. It behaves as a “remote/auxilliary” reservoir.

WHen I wrote “and the Main Hyd tank serves the steering and MAY serve SOME added accessories like plows, snow-blowers, bed-lift hyds, etc.”…. I ….MEANT …. To add that “I have none of those added accessories….only power steering.

Your statement that “it barely farts when using starting fluid”….is distrubing. Kubota specifically warns Agains Using Starting fluid on their diesels. Why? Because it will easily bend a connecting rod(s) and then you’ve got a diesel that won’t run.

Pay a legitimate shop to fix it or sell it .
