That may not be a good maintenance tip but not a bad tip in general.;)

So change the fluids and filters annually or at the service intervals, whichever comes first and no pressures washers. Any other tips or advice for maintenance? I love to learn from others who have the experience

I just cut a sheet of expanded metal up with an angle grinder for a smokehouse. I'll bet a piece of that would be nearly impossible for them to chew through. You would have to make sure the holes were small enough that they couldn't squeeze through it.
