Hey California.....thanks again for all the info. Now, as far as the wheels go, I think I understand what you are saying. The disk should have the " dimpled " side out?.....to get the max width? Do I have that right? Man, I totally didn't think about trying to work on the wheels with the water...

Hey Ohio......glad to hear its unanimous.....I'm going with using both brakes and locked together. If I ever need to do something different, then at least I will know I can separate the brakes. Well, got a new tire on the front today to match the new tire that was put on by the seller the day I...

Hey Bill, Yeah, although I'm a GM man.....those '34s were pretty cool. I've never put one together for myself, but have helped a couple of guys with getting theirs back on the road after many years of neglect. Anymore, your lucky to even find 1 car that can be put back on the road without...

Hey California....thanks for all the info again. I suspected that the object of separate braking was for turning....much like a track vehicle. So, I'm probably better with keeping the braking together since, in most cases I won't need tight turns....and probably safer not to use them separately...

I forgot to mention California, I know what you mean about the older tractors. Now that I've got a tractor, I've been looking at some older stuff too. I recently sold our 60 year old Dodge...and being an " old metal " guy at heart...cars or anything with a motor, I've been toying with the idea...

Glad to hear it won't hurt anything lifting the the tractor with the FEL.....it even may come in handy at times. I'll test that temp sender tomorrow and see if I can find anything out. Okay, I've got some pretty newbie questions....a couple that have been haunting me. First...I know the brake...

Hey California and all of you guys that have been helping me out, Well, still making progress. California, thanks for touching base on all my questions. I had looked at the wiring schematic in the Ops manual....but that's what I found strange....is that I guess this light never had the switch...

Hey Ohio.... Ya know......I'd read a post recently about the temp vs. coolant level light and someone suggested the same thing as you have....to make sure that it's a temp sender and not a coolant level sensor. Guess I'd better check the manual and see if there's anything specific. I know...

Hey Guys, Okay, well, I'm still working on the tractor, a little progress each day. The last couple of days not a lot done, but I did get the engine oil and filter changed......man, it needed it....although the level of the oil was fine, the oil had seen much better days....but not recently...

California, Okay, when you say S/N.....are you talking about the tractor S/N....or the engine S/N. Since I'm easily confused....I went out to my tractor and wrote both down in my manual so I'd have them to refer to if needed again. I actually just saw Tractor S/N on the left fender for the first...

Hey Thanks California, Again, I guess I am showing my " noobieness "....I forgot to look at the YM 2000 parts breakdown on the Hoye site. So, it sounds as though it's possible that I have a little different filter screen assy in my tractor than you have in yours. Is it possible to pull...

Hey Ohio, You know, I'm not sure if it's actually coming out in the area of the boot....or lower, but you've got a good point....I didn't even think of it, but like any trans or diff, they do all have vents to release the pressures built up when operating. I'll check it out. And as for the "...

Hey California or anyone out there, I've been looking for the part # for the filter screen and O-ring for my tractors hydraulic system. I've been to the Hoye site, Fredricks, gone through my manual and I still can't find anything. I may have missed it but does anyone have the part # for those...

Hey, thanks California. Yeah, I can see that the tractor had been neglected. As you suggested I think I am going to wait to change the hydraulic oil until I have the filter screen and O-ring. I didn't get enough oil the first time out anyway......I only got a gallon figuring before flushing the...

Hey Mark and Ohio, I've contacted both RCO and Dave's tractor. Thanks for the info. Hopefully I will be able to get something here in a week or so. Till then, it's back out to the tractor for troubleshooting.

Hey Ohio, Yeah, ya know, I haven't looked real close at that ignition...you could be right about something silly like a screw holding it in cause I don't know why it wouldn't just pull out. Yeah, it's great having the starter and throttle working right. I just took it for a drive around the...

Okay....now I feel like a buffoon......Earlier when I was on the site I read the " click on your parts number " .....but, like an idiot, I was clicking on the part...not the number. Hey Ohio, Excellent...thanks for that link. I tried finding that particular parts break down, but didn't have any luck. I'm going to have to take a look at that assy. I have one question about Hoye parts break down pages. I see like most manuals the parts are numbered....but no part number or...
