Can the transmission oil filters (suction and HST) be replaced without first draining the fluids?

My grease guns cant reach the fittings on the rear drive shaft. What type of grease guns are you all using?

Don't know about the 1140, but my M7040 I do....Last filter change I only lost 5 gallons of fluid. That still beats 15 gallons, and I never have liked the idea of putting fluid back in that I just took out. I feel there is just too much dirt gets in it.
As for the grease gun, I just use a standard one with I think an 18" hose on it.

Thanks for the response. I guess I'll get some fluid, then try to change the filter and see what happens. The grease fittings on the 1140 rear drive shaft seem impossible to get to with my standard grease gun, I'll try one of those little half size guns that I see at auto parts stores.

I have a 1140 you wont looase no more than a half gallon. i bought a new catch pan and used what came out back in and added a little maybe half gallon i lost in the filters. i grease mine from the top raise the bed and keep pulling up until thw zerk fitting is on top on problem. this makes my third rtv i no all the tricks.if you have any more question fell free to ask
