When you push in the clutch the PTO automatically disengages. Stupid/ridiculous John Deere supposed safety feature. I need instructions on how to bypass. I would never have purchased this tractor if I had known this.
It doesn't have a 2 stage clutch? If you push the clutch all the way in, I'd expect it shut down the PTO but if you depress the clutch half way down, does the PTO stay running? Half way down on mine, I can shift gears but the PTO keeps running.
Evidently not or it needs adjusting. As soon as you depress the clutch any at all the PTO disengages. I am going to contact JD about it again but I want to find someone who can tell me how to bypass this. It is hard on the equipment besides the aggravation and inconvenience. I am going to put my bushhog back on my JD 4300 until I can get it fixed.
