2WD/4WD shaft stuck

Sometimes mine feel like they’re stuck, but if you put it in gear and just barely press on the accelerator and let off while you’re pulling it down toward 2 Wheel Drive, it’ll slide right out

I've tried that. I've even had it up on jack stands with a good sized crescent wrench on the shaft coming out of the tranny with no movement. I'm not sure if the shaft is seized or mechanical issues inside the case.

The diff lock pedal on the floor isn't stuck in the down position is it?
It's been a long time, but do I recall correctly that it may be the shift forks getting stuck?

Have you tried @razerface suggestion but in Reverse?

Trying pressing hard on the brake pedal while in neutral. That might trigger the pressure release if that's what is binding it up. I would try this both running and when shut off. Good luck.

If you had the machine totally up on jack stands then the problem has to be internal. For how long was it in 4wd?

Probably just rust then. Change the gearcase oil to super udt and just work it back and forth a little every day as much as you can till it breaks free
