Hi all, the starter on my 900 is acting up. sometimes it will spin without engaging a few times and then finally start cranking. I know the basics of starters, and that the gear isnt sliding to engage the flywheel, just wondering if its easy or possible to take apart and clean up and lube it myself or is that not a diy thing ? thanks

I have seen some aftermarkets on the 'bay site reasonably priced and take offs also. I think most starters can be repaired but I don't know about this one. The aftermarkets (80+-) are around half of the Kubota brand ( 160+-) on the e site. Good Luck! collie

Anyone who rebuilds starters should be able to rebuild your old one easily.
