HELLO, my first time posting,
So here's the problem.
Have1958 AC D17 , engine recieved major over haul.
Trouble in getting new points sett, along with timing marks.
FLYWHEEL has 1 horizontal line, and 2 dot punch marks located horizontal but not close to horizontal line.
Cylinder head, has new valves and guides, cleaned and reinstalled rocker arm shaft. Did not change adjustment setting.
During install, checked to see if there was spark , there was none.
upgraded old push button ignition to key ignition, wiring to coil and dist. Was good, replaced points & condenser, ( Blue Streak) setting points at 22, and has spark to plugs (new) now.
When attempting to start, engine turns over well but starts to pop and bang !
Checked carb , ( rebuilt) removed cleaned with compressed air.
Believe the valves should be adjusted.
Recently saw info on setting all valves to 0.15 . This procedure only allowed for #1E,#2 E and #4 I to barely turn , no others.
Slot on Dist. Shaft pointed at #1 plug
Enough info to get started to solve this issue.
All responses greatly appreciated!
