Adjusting D1105 Engine speed

Hi,
I have been searching around a bit for some information on adjusting the engine speed on a d1105. I am replacing a motor in an RTV1100 with a motor from a generator/light plant. They are the same motor, I just need to figure out how to adjust the governor, speed plate, and fueling to get the generator motor to rev up to 3000 rpm safely. I know this has been done before but I am having a tough time finding information that is clear online. Can anyone help walk me through the changes that need to be made to the 1800 rpm set generator motor to allow it to get to 3000 rpm safely? Thanks a lot.

I went ahead and pulled the speed adjustment plate off of both motors to look at the governor assembly. It looks like the adjustable rpm engine has a pretty different governor on it. You can see a few differences, even some sort of threaded adjustment rod that is in the block. The 1800 rpm engine does not have a provision in the block for this. Do these photos ring any bells for anyone? Looking for ideas on next steps. Thanks

Looks like I have a BG series motor (from the gen set that has a 2 fork governor). The RTVs and other excavators and tractors have a "standard" series motor and are equip with a 3 arm governor. Anyone have any experience putting a 3 lever governor into a BG series block? Looks like it will all go in except for the "max torque limiter" which is the threaded rod in my last post.

Or does anyone know if the BG series blocks can be setup to run at 3000 rpm? I just need idle and full throttle really... I have attached some pages from the shop manual I am looking at. Any input would be really helpful. Thanks
