Anybody ever try one of these plows on a RTV 500?

The factory plow for the RTV 500 is upwards of $1500 for the blade and HD struts so I started searching for a cheaper alternative and came across this plow. Has anyone tried it? How well does it work? They also had a 60" version of this plow available, I'm not sure which one I'd want, the 500 seems to have enough down low grunt to use the wider plow.

I gotta get something in the next few months to be ready.:letitsnow:

Looks like you have to buy r own winch and mounting system.

If u dont have much snow to remove buy a walk behind snow thrower,

You need a heavy machine to move snow and the 500 is pretty light imo.

I figure the 500 is plenty enough to move the snow, I see quads doing it all the time and my 500 is far more of a workhorse than them. I'll probably end up sticking with the Kubota unit, all their accessories are pricey but seem to work well.

Your right......I started out with lawn mower with blade.....angle the blade you just go sideways......moved up to 500 polaris 4x4 with blade and was better on angle if you got some speed up.....then moved up to the 900 kubota rtv with heater and blade......much better.....sorta cold even with heater in there with the cab......now I moved up to the 1100 and plenty of heat and AC.
After 35 years in a wheelchair I just can't stand the cold no more.
By the way the atv with the blade was hard to steer in 4 wheel drive with that blade on there.
I got a new 700 polaris with the brushless power steering and boy does that make a big difference just tooling around in the summer.
With a blade on that would have helped me 10 years ago....but still would have froze to death......lol
I love my 1100 but if you wana go fast once in awhile the atv is nice .....but at dark or hot out the 1100 no heat and bugs.......lol

Ya I stay with the kubota blade since am sure it includes the winch and you know its gona fit right with no headaches.

On my 900 they had that all day electric junk winch with worm drive......bought a warn winch and just bypassed that winch that came with the 900.
I look at the 500 balde and winch system they use on the 500 and from the pictures on the internet.....looks like they got it together and use a warn winch from the start.

Can't go wrong with that deal.

By the time you get the one off of ebay working the way it should you'll be not too far from what the OEM pricing would be IMO.

Also, unless you are pushing nothing but powder snow, 72" is too big for your RTV500. Stick with a 60". You'll get more done.

I used one of these plows on my 900, If I was not paying attention I could rip the plow right off the rtv (in fact I did once). If you have a winch all ready might as well get the strongest cheapest blade you can get

Well I went up the to Kubota dealer and was able to check out the Kubota blade, it's a nice unit but the price was just too much for what it is. I decided to go with an American Eagle country style blade, I already have the winch so worse case scenario I'll build a stronger mount for it after the first one fails. Should be here next week, can't wait to install a snow plow on a 90+ day....going to have to do it in the front yard just to make the neighbors think I lost my marbles. :yum:
