B7800 won't start...

My 7 year old B7800 won't start. Put in a new battery. No response. Glow plug light comes on, lights work, but not a sound from the engine. Attachment control is off. Any help out there?

I had that problem on my B2400. In my case there was a pressure switch that the clutch pedal engages when it is depressed to start the engine. The pressure switch had slipped out of its retaining spring and was just dangling there. Just had to push it back in place, push in the clutch and she fired right up. I'm not saying that is your problem but it is something to check.

Like Frank's issue, I'd check all the safety switches. Also confirm all fuses are good.

It's an off chance, but check the starter connections too. I know you said the battery is new but is it fully charged- cables in good ,clean condition? Our skid steer did the same thing and the battery was weak- lights and all worked but nary a sound from the engine.I also had the safety seat switch come loose under the seat on the mower. I'd check everything electrical :fuses, switches connections- ground etc. bordercollie

There's a safety switch on the hst pedal to only allow starts when it is in the neutral position. I'm on the second one on my L3400.

Had a no-start call from one of the employees once on our 3430. His thermos had rolled behind the seat, keeping it from hitting the seat switch. Might be something to check.

I had the same issue as ETFrank...clutch switch on my B1700 HST...There is also a switch for the PTO and one for the H....N.....L selection lever.
