That's pretty much what I had in mind. My mounting idea had to be a little different (and lower) due to the roof but that's pretty much what I had in mind.
I can't speak for where ez chair got that winch but I've got one as well. Most tool catalogs have them as well as places that sell boat accessories (as it's a common boat trailer winch). They're bulkier than an ATV winch and not quite made as well but they're <u>very</u> reasonably priced.

Well, I'm sitting here cleaning off my desk so I can do my taxes [:'(]
Going through the magazines received this week so I can toss them, right there on the front cover of Harbor Freight is a winch.

Now, you get what you pay for and I'm not big on things with moving parts from Harbor Freight but for an aux winch that doesn't have critical applications, it may be an alternative.

BC, Right on, you get what you pay for! They are made in China and the 3000lbs is "rolling weight". What that means who knows? I say at best 300 real lbs. The one in my picture came from flea market $25. Two Guns bed is hydro.
