Get the block heaters, tanny heaters, install the Mat-Tracks, get the guns, & let's go huntin' in the snow !!!!

Well, I prayed for snow, well I got it !!!! Always wanted to run the RTV in snow like ya'll men up north.

I know it will not last, I know it will not be deep, but gotta say: Look at MY SNOW !!!!

Bordercollie should be seeing some in Mississippi also !!!

My son, called me before daylight and said, " Daddy, hope you didn't leave the RTV at the farm, for it's snowing here" Everybody knows how bad I have always wanted to run my RTV in deep snow. Even threatend my wife to load it up and head up north for a week and get it out of my system....

Ya'll Have a Good Day !!!! For I am Enjoying our Snow in the South !!!! [:O]

Congrats Jamie!!!! Get out there and make tracks.

When riding, do something for me to get the full impact. Drive the RTV at higher speeds with your head out the side so the windshield offers no protection. When you have icicles hanging off your face, go ahead and go back behind the windshield. You now understand why a windshield is pretty much a must in the north.

Looks great! Believe it or not, you have more snow than we do up here in Northern NY. The ground is bare up here. We usually have plenty of snow, but this year has been a bit odd. Lots of snow in December and then a massive thaw and we're back to walking on grass.

Have fun. There's nothing like an outing in the woods in winter time. Where bout's in Louisiana are you? I have a friend in Saline.

Blessings,

Matt

Hi Two Guns and friends! We got some big snowflakes last night.{ Looked like egret poo falling}. but they didn't stick much. We were working late at the barn and could here the ting ting of sleet/snow on the barn roof.It really made me want to get in front of the fireplace but cows cows cows.. Today it was very chilly and; after it warmed up enough for everything to melt, I was sure proud of the XTR's ..because it was muddy muddy muddy.I ran around with the RTV in 2wd most of the day. Just love that machine.I'm sure we will get a real snow one day like that one about 10 yrs ago when we got about 5 " and no power for 3 days. I can hear the Northern friends laughing about that 'big' snow.I will try to find a picture to scan of that snow to show everyone. It may be this summer before I find it.Lucky Ya'll ,Bordercollie[&][&]

Hi, Two Guns, I hope you had enough snow to 'play ' in. I think you folks below I-20 got a sum more than us. If not there is still time.Bordercollie[:D]

I guess it depends on how you define "lucky". It's currently 3 degrees outside. The only thing that makes that nice is that the mud is now all frozen.

I would have a hard time getting any work done with it that cold! I 'll take the hot dry summers with the high heat index any time. I whine when it is 21. How are ya'll doing on annual rain? We are off 20 inches for last year. Quite worriesome. What I meant about ya'll being lucky was the fact that it would take me a while to find those pictures. You know about pictures, kids etc.. nobody really wants to see stuff like that. I try to disappear when family members come to visit and drag out that huge packet (s)of pictures. For a lot of things, it's actually quite nice working outside in the cold. Today, I cut down a tree for a neighbor. It was too cold for that... I was fine but the bar oil in the chainsaw was so thick it wouldn't come out. I made the felling cut and got the tree to the ground and then told him it's going to lay in his yard for warmer weather (so I didn't ruin my chaing/bar).

I heard more snow hit the lower states today. Anyone get any?

Hello Jamie:

I am glad you got "your snow". I am not sure I would let all your neighbors know you were praying for it though... they might not have been as happy about it. [:)]

You are welcome to come try our snow... although our hunting season has been over for months.

I am still not sure what this thing would do with our snow. 2 to 3 feet in the woods. with firm ground and soft snow I could see it just plowing through.. but with firmer snow I could see the body and frame sitting on the snow.. with the tires just spinning.

Your right hammerhead, once the belly snow is packed you are done. 1' of packed Maine snow will get you if you stop. 2' of fresh powder no problem. It all looks the same on top! Drifts get you every time. Stay on packed trails if possible. RTV stayed on top on packed snowmobile track on my land. We have a law in Maine that ATV's are not allowed on snowmobile trails. Wasn't always that way but a few spoiled it for the many.

where in La. did it snow like that? Were originally from Lafayette La but now live in north Alabama and we didn't get one snowflake.I had the RTV ready and greatly disappointed that it missed us by about 40 miles.

Concordia Parish * Tensas Parish * Catahoula Parish

2 1/2 - 3 hours north of Lafayette Louisiana

Didn't miss much, didn't stay long >>>> heck, the sun started shining later on that day !!! [:'(]
