Boomless sprayer calibration information

This spring weather has gotten the RTV all roaring to spray pastures.Today, I pressure washed the old Hoss(1924hrs)and changed the oil in anticipation of the big event. I like to give the RTV a big send off because it will be doing all the work. I will just be along for the ride. I had lost the calibration info on my Fimco 60 g tow behind boomless(30 ft) sprayer, but I found just the info I needed for free at http://www.noble.org/Ag/Soils/BoomlessSprayerCalibration/CDIndex.pdf this will work for the boomless sprayers only although the boom is similar. just google that. Those of us that spray pastures can really save $ by using the calibration method and avoiding waste. I try to use at least 12 g of water herbicide mix per acre. 20 would be better because it would give more residual benefit. The high cost of clipping due to fuel/labor is just one more reason tomaybe get a sprayer for your RTV. When I first started spraying yrs ago,I rigged up my own 14' boom and hooked it up to my 25 g tank in the cargo bed,ran out of water so quickly...Then got a 60G barrel and rigged up a sprayer with a gas motor. I looked like the Beverly Hillibillies but it worked!! Now I use this tow behind. I can just cut loose and be free to go do something else.Just remember to stay away from your trees's dripline or you could lose them. These small units are great when you can't use a tractor sized one. My RTV is like that Timex and battery bunny it just keeps on going and going!!! Bordercollie[&][&]

This link listed in the 2008 post no longer works but here is another one for a boomless nozzle from the same site. http://www.noble.org/ag/soils/boomless-sprayer-calibration/ . collie

edit the same folks also have information on calibrating sprayers with a boom.
