Bx tire usage update

Hello Everyone.. in the last thread about the "bx" tires, I said my dealer was going to talk to a Kubota tech. guy, about their use onthe RTV.According to this guy the official kubota stance is.... even though customers are doing it, they do not recommended it. The reason they say is the size.. 26 vs 25 and the effective change in gearing... which would voiding the warrenty.

They didn't say anything about fit issues.. or the tire not being heavyduty enough. My salesperson and I found the size issue odd. The stated size is only an inch difference, and I belive EZchair said they only measure 1/2 inch taller. The stock tires on this machine do vary.. from 23[?]... I think that is what my turf tires are... to the 25's. Obviously others have been running even "taller" tires with no apparent problems.

So now I just need to decide which tire. Personally I am looking at the Maxxis Bighorn.. or the BX Tire.

His answers about the tire size is VERY odd !!!!!

I don't know many RTV owners that run the OEM's very long, for everybody in my area, pretty well go a fair size bigger. And no problems have ever occured that we know of !!!! And the tires do not void the warranty from talking to several dealers we've talked to .... But, as we all know, different dealers have different ideas !!!

This was not a technician of the dealership.. my sales person went to a tech guy that he knows at Kubota??? which I think makes it more confusing...

The Maxxis Bighorn is what I run. Damn good all-around tire.

My experience is that Kubota USA will tell you that just about anything that isn'tfrom Kubotawill void the warranty. They are a Japanese companyand the Japanese business culture is very different than our own. Unless they totally have their arms around an issue they will almost always default thatwhat isunknownis not acceptable. They have to be 100% sure about something before they will approve it.

I'm sure Kubota drives some of their dealers crazy..

Unless you're like me... I'm notorious for buying first-year models (and paying for it...).

So, If I buy something from overseas, I go to the store where I got it ). It's got be Japanese as I don't but stuff from China. When I tell them that I have an issue they say "Ahhhhhh,,, Soooooo". After a few minutes in, I then realize they said "Asss Hoolllle".

You hit that on the head! They won't ever okay anything they have not tested throughly. It is a pain, however its also whats gotten them this far. Its not too often you need to question what your buying from Kubota.
