D902 engine O-ring question

Hello everyone, i’ve got a kubota BX25DLB. with a D902 engine, i have pulled the cylinder head and noticed there was an o ring for the oil pin pipe. I have referred to the manual i have on the tractor and it said to replace the o-ring with a new one but have found no listing for that specific o-ring on kubota or any other tractor part website I’ve found. If anyone would have any ideas on where to find one or information would be great, Also any information on just the head gasket job itself such as pointers are also much appreciated.

Brian, he was having trouble creating the original thread so I helped. I followed your suggestion and put a copy of his post in the RTV forums. Good idea. :thumb:

I put a new head on a 902 in a RTV 900 and ran into the same problem, I just matched the old oring with one out of my assortment box. Worked fine no problems. Just make sure same thickness.

Just grab a caliper, measure the thickness and inner diameter of the old o-ring, and match it from an assortment kit. You can get an aftermarket rubber o-ring assortment kit for a decent price and it'll save you a ton of time hunting down one specific part number that nobody seems to stock anyway.

I appreciate the replies, the only downside is the o ring that was originally on the engine was misplaced so it’s not possible for me to compare. I do believe i have more problems to solve on this besides the head. We had to use the tractor a lot while it was overheating and the block may be warped but i wont know until i buy a precision block next month. Another note is dad had used stop leak in the tractor and it had clogged the coolant system up pretty good so i’ve been working on flushing the block out as best as i can so if anyone has overhauled one of these d902’s and has some pointers that would help a bunch cause i can do basic repairs on gas engines and vehicles but i’m not that savvy either the diesel engines nor tear down and what to do.

I just wanted to post an update. I have ordered the new head and gasket kit from Friday parts and was very pleased with the gasket quality, and not only that the head gasket came with the o ring i needed so i’m going to do some more tear down and replace some gaskets and hopefully have a good reassembly.
