Do any of you run supplements in your fuel?

Quick question, does anyone run Power Service Winter Supplement & Cetane boost in your RTV's diesel fuel in the wintertime? I have never run it in my John Deere diesel, but I had an old Dodge 3500 one ton that had the Cummins in it and I would run that in it, as I had my diesel fuel gel up one time during the winter. Does Kubota recommend cetane boost for winter? I would hate for my fuel to gel up.

I usually use Power Service in the white bottle when temps get into single digits and lower just in case.

ditto. I use Power service for the winter season to prevent gelling and to keep the fuel stabil for the winter months. I fill up the tank and don't have to add more fuel till April or May.

I use Sta-Bil Diesel additive when I take delivery which I do in November so I get the winter blend from the provider. So far no problems and my 275 gallon tank is in a shed outdoors.

Dave I admit to ignorance. My neighbor found algae in his fuel and I had never heard that. Another neighbor said to use Howes and that would never happen to my machines. Sure enough right after I got a bottle and treated all my fuel, the same neighbor said he switched to Power Service on his Dad's recommendation to prevent algae and gelling. So - I have a bottle of Power Service on my list to pick up next time I'm in town. Live and learn I guess. Thanks!

Kubota does not recommend cetane boost at all. The minimum cetane of all diesel in the US is higher than the minimum cetane required by Kubota.
When you buy local diesel in winter it is already treated with anti-gel…but if it gets below 20-degrees F…and you feel it is deficient it won’t hurt to treat it per the directions. Just don’t OVER-treat it. (DIesel doesn’t actually gel until 15F)

If you buy diesel in quantity and store it for long periods you might with to consider an anti-biological to prevent fungus/spore mold issue. I have a large fuel storage system in which I use Biobor-JF but there are others.
