What is the best fertilize spreader for the rtv? I am going to use it for hard to get to places in pasture and just for general spreading.

I, and some of the older folks on here have this:

http://www.ontimefeeders.com/pl_bumperBuddy.php

I ran a 12V line back to the rear for this device and my sprayer out of my switch panel that I fabricated.

It mounts on the tailgate with NO problems. I use it for my pastures, food plots, lawn, and in my woods where I am reestablishing ground cover. Many different kinds of seed, minerals, and fertilizer have gone through it..........Probably 2 tons per year for 4 or 5 years now...............

The company stands behind their product and have replaced the motor several times now.......They are not faulty, it's just that nitrogen is totally corrosive and eats up the motor; but the company stands behind them without questions........

Make sure when you use them that you thouroughly WASH your RTV getting all the dust and particles off as it for sure will start a rust spot........

Anyway, for me, a great product and tool.........God bless.........Dennis

I appreciate the replies both of these spreaders look like they would work very well. The one thing this machine has that a tractor don't is a place to store 1100 lbs of bagged fertilizer.

Dennis took the words right out of my mouth. That company is super. Been using them for years and years. THEY STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS.
( Plus, they are made right here is sweet Louisiana )
But please, clean up your spreader and for sure, please clean your RTV after every use with that fertilizer, you know it will eat up anything !!!!

Pepr also has a great suggestion. Don't have one of them, but sure would like to have one !!!!

Like others, I have the Bumper Buddy spreader.
Since mine is rarely used, I wired a switch in the cab to a quick-disconnect under the back of the bed. The quick disconnect matches what's on the spreader. For the other 360 days, I keep a tractor light under the bed with the compatible plug. I now have a backup light.

If you have a volunteer, have them ride in the bed with several bags of fertilizer. They watch the hopper and when it starts getting low, they load another bag in while you're still on the move.

For large areas (let's say 10+ acres), a 3-point hitch mount spreader that runs off the PTO will work much faster.
